  1. Hi all, Although Pioneer refunded me for my F900BT and I'm a very happy Clarion MAX983HD user now, for some reason I received an e-mail today for a person at Pioneer that did not know I didn't have my F900 anymore, stating the there is a new software version for the F-series that will come on in June. Many of the bug will be addressed in this version, however, the update from f900 to f910 will not be for free. Price to be determined Info comes from Pioneer itself. Just to let you know.
  2. Boy, I never even dreamt of my messages invoking this much response. 1600+ reads in not even 4 days... Or a person reading this post every 3 minutes!! I just came back out of curiousity and for entertainment to this forum and see many, many people still have replied to my post. Jeez, guys, stop forcing yourselves to believe the F-series are the best navigation system ever. It's a free world... And for those of you that want to see the MAX983HD at work to compare and have your eyes opened. (Sorry if you live in the US, it's not for sale in the US) http://www.youtube.com/results
  3. Hi all!! Just got a refund from my dealer today. And got a clarion MAX983HD installed. Now THAT'S a good navigation system. Startup almost instant. Much more user-friendly. Even more functionalities. And I haven't found one single bug (yet ), where I had found many the first day on my Pioneer. Sorry to all persons that are frustrated with their Pioneer device. Thanks for your support. I sincerely hope you can find a decent arrangement with your dealer too. To all the others that are happy, pretend to be happy or force themselves to be happy, good luck with your f-series. And
  4. I agree with Tacomaboy, In then end it is more the priciple than the money that counts. Pioneer definitely will think twice in the future before launching an unfinished product. And yes, no one forced me to buy it, only thing is that I didn't get the decvice I thought I was buying and I would never have bought it if I was informed of the bug and problems. In the end us, customers, will gain a lot from it. At least than you can expect a product to - more or less - meet the commercials. Producers will always go one step further if we don't react. WHERE WILL IT END???
  5. Yes good devices exist. I have read VERY GOOD reviews of the Clarion MAX983HD and the JVC KW NX 7000. The First one is more expensive, the latter one cheaper. P.S. to whoopidoo2,Your analysis is quite right. Translate this to business terms and you get: I want to launch a new product. And want to make a LOT of money. Now, how can I do that? Let me think, keep costs low, calculate how many programmers and how long you can put the on the job for that budget, without asking them if it is realistic. Then sell your product at high prices, make good money and aspecially do not listen to you
  6. Thakns for your reply Vblue. No offense, but let's have this conversation again in 3 months... or maybe 6 montht, Pioneer is most probably not going to be ready in time. I wouldn't be surprised if it were very close to the reality
  7. Dear all, Needless to repeat the F-series are not working as they should. And yes, some of uw are happy with it, and yes some of us think is not that bad, at least not in a degree where we need to sue them, but I would really like to give them a strong signal that selling unfinished products at - premium - Pioneer prices is not done and creates a lot of frustration. And when explicitely communicating the problems and bugs to Pioneer their people try to convince us the device has just minor issues and it is working perfectly fine. (That is the easy solution of course; take the money and
  8. Hi all, As I'm not happy with my F900bt, I'm on my dealer's tail to get the latest information about what Pioneer is doing. NOW it seems that Pioneer was willing to discontinue software development on the F-series and rather focus on a new product. But many dealers disagreed and complained. That made Pioneer change its direction and now a LIMITED team of developers is working to improve the F-series. The update -probably the last update the will publish - is foreseen for the March-April time frame. HOWEVER, this new update will only work with new maps (are they trying to make more
  9. Thank you for sharing your opinion with us, Cranbers. I'm fairly sure however quite some people do not agree with you. And yes lawyer make money out of these cases. But I don't mind than; Pioneer is making a lot of money too. The only one loosing is us users. We spend more than 1200 Euro's which is about 1700 dollars for a lousy product. BTW, I'm also pretty sure nobody is really looking for a refund, but rather for the necessary updates to have a better working device (I'm not even talking about "perfecty working", just better working, at an acceptable quality level). But the devic
  10. We have to sue them to give them a strong signal that selling devices that are still stuffed with bugs is just not done. It should serve as an example to avoid future product launches maybe with even more bugs. I remeber a time, not so long ago, when new devices were release at a slower pave, where new devices worked well when they were brought out. People didn't have to care too much about firmware updates, at least not for major issues. Then we had Microsoft bringing our fault products with loads of patches and updates afterwards. And now more and more manufacturs start doing this. M
  11. Any other people from Belgium willing to start a law suit with me? I know what proedure to follow and - unless you have a better contact - know what lawyer to contact for this kind of cases. Starting the law suit alone is of no use, as it would cost at least 300-400 Eur, which is approximately what I'd loose selling it second hand. However, if the cost can be split over 2, 3 or maybe more cases... Let me know!! PS mubbly, no Pioneer merchandising. Not even a pen...
  12. I JUST HAD THE MOST DISAPPOINTING DISCUSSION OF MY LIFE. Clearly Pioneer has no intention of changing anything in it's device. Two pioneer guys came over and they first tried to convince me everything was working fine, but that is was a matter of fine tuning and parameter adjustments. OK for me, so I invited them - as experts - to configure and fine-tune my device. After 30 minutes, some critical questions from my side and a test drive, they admitted that there might be some inconsistencies in the design, but that they could not be described as bugs, but rather, inconsistencies in
  13. More news to come tomorrow. Hope it won't be disappointing!!
  14. Hi Vblue24, The speedcam functionality is a standard feature in Europe. We even get a free annual subcription to the speedcam update-service via internet. But I agree with you that if there is a hack, we can just report it, but should not make too much fuzz about it, so that they can concentrate on the real bugs and problems rather for which no hack/mod is available. Will pm you for the solution. Thanks for your input!
  15. Dear Diane, 1) Then please tell me on what page they explicitly mention the volume of SD-card and navigations is linked and is barely hearable and sounds distorted when you put the music to background volume levels. Moreover, when discussing this with experienced programmers, they informed me that it is perfectly possible to solve this limitation 2) on #6 I can perfectly end the call on my phone. But that is not the worst part of this bug. The worst part is me not being able to lower or - especially - increase volume. That is what bothers me. 3) on #7 if you read the first lines; I
