  1. I have been trying to help pioneer with the fix, ive given them every bit of information i can, and have spoken to neumerous tech people from there. They are trying to figure out what to do. Its gonna take time and more feedback though. I hope they fix it soon too, i can say try to use a digital ballast. I installed some a few days ago and its been alot better. It will still do it but not as much as before. Also you can ground one of your rca cables to improve this issue, doesnt ure it but makes it better. And also does everyone thats having this same problem as me have an external ampli
  2. You do not need to hook it up. No purpose really. THey say youre suppose to no matter what so the unit knows youre going in reverse however how long are you in reverse for lol!
  3. How about this one, i dont even have relays installed for my hids. Just running off the stock wiring. ANd by the way its not just the xm audio its all audio, ipod am fm cd whatever. However the ding sound still plays through the amp when youpress a button.
  4. I spoke to pioneers head tech guy and he said to trey and ground one of my rca cables. He also said to try and hook up a speaker to the internal amp to see if that shuts off as well and it did. so its not an external problem its deff inside the unit. I have been running the grounded rca for about a week now and no problems as of yet.
  5. really i posted the exact same problem and noone could help me out. I ended up calling up the kind at pioneers tech support and spoke to him cuz my stores distrobutor said to call this guy. He said to try to ground one rca cable, just the outside. He also wanted me to text and see if the internal amp shuts off when it does it and it does. However the grounding of the rca cable seems to be working. No problems as of yet. Give it a shot and let me know, as per i have an 02 mustang with hid and the exact same problem.
  6. Talked to the guys at pioneers tech support and they said others are having the same issue. I explained to him it did it only when i turned on my headlights and he said do you have hids installed in the car and i do and then he asked me if they were digital or analog. Theyre analog. Aparently the analog ballasts throw off some kind of frequency which randomly interfere with this unit. The tech support guy also mentioned to me that he had been speaking with someone else about this problem and they took their unit out of their vehicle, hooked it up to a completely different power source, and
  7. I am having a very weird issue. I am losing audio after i turn on my headlights from my unit. Xm was doing it first and only xm but now its every source that will do it. Will not do it allthe time but its very annoying because the only way toget the audio back is to turn off the car and turn it back on again. I disconnected the parking light wire from the unit and it still does it. Getting very frustrated, and someone out there has to be having the same exact problem i am having. I completely reinstalled the unit twice just to see if i missed anything but nope its all good. Any input on
  8. Ok so the reinstall happend and still doing it, with and without the dimmer wire hooked up. Wtf is going on here??? DOes anyone have this problem or is it just mine???
  9. Ok heres an update, its not the dimmer wire because i just tried unhooking it and it still does it the second i put the headlights on. Going to rip it completely out and re install everything just to try it see what happens. ill keep you posted
  10. Its 13.5 with the car running and the parking lights on but remember its the dimmer wire so it goes up and downwhen you twist it, like most cars. I did notice that when i pull it out to turn the headlights on the wire drops to a quick 12.5 though, but i dont understand why that would affect the audio on xm and only xm.
  11. Do you have an external amp hooked up? Or are you using the rear output rcas for your sound? If so you need to use the front ones. The sound for phone and voice for nav only comes through the front outputs
  12. I just installed my x920 yesterday and if i let the radio boot up fully while xm is on, then turn on my headlights the sound for xm and only xm disappears. The screen and full control is still up and if i change my source the sound is normal, but xm sound will either be gone or quiet and distorted or only on half of my speakers. I am also using extrernal amp as well. Called pioneer and they were just basically baffled and he said try disconnecting the dimmer wire and see if it still does it. Well obviously it wont do it since its not gonna trigger whatever problem is there. I had a f900bt
  13. Ok so i sent out my 900bt on the 9th of sept after trying to fix it myself with no luck. Sent it to pioneers chicago repair facility, got it back today finally. Turns out it was a hardware problem after all, they replaced the navi board and reloaded the 2.006 software. So far all has been ok except ive had to do 2 resets from not being able to go into the setup menu. But since those 2 resets its been ok. They fixed it under the warranty as well, and as you remember i had the 3.0 software that was up on this site for download a few months ago. So anyways that wasnt too bad since they fixe
  14. Very true. nah i was giving it a few days to see if maybe someone actually had the necessary uboot files. I was actually able to retrieve half but still need the uboot.cks file. Its been way too long though, i need my radio fixed lol. Its going back the sketchy warranty repair at pioneer today lol. ANd no 2 or 3 did not happen. I did however have the beta 3.0 software that wsa up on this site for like a month. But if there was a problem then it woulda showed from the beginning of the install correct? It shouldnt work for a month and then just stop booting out of nowhere. Oh well thank
