Do you know if the factor navi when intergrated with the Ipod will show the songs and artist on the screen like the n3 does? I guess I am asking that question for most newer cars stock navi and not one particular brand.

Good Point, it might be better to just spend the extra money and get the stock navi and then add the ipod adapter to the screen so it has much of the same features as an n3 would have.

When you said that you have seen it done, do you mean that you have seen the navi ran to the information screen or the n3 put at the bottom under the information screen? Thanks

Hey guys, I wanted to know if anyone has installed an N3 in the new Body Lexus GS. I know if you buy the car without Navi, it comes with an information touch screen. Can you install the unit at the bottom by the cup holders and then intergrate it into the Stock information unit. If you can't, what happens to the stock screen if all the radio stations are running through the Avic. You can have both screens working at the same time? Or can you run a different hideaway nav unit that would intergrate into the information screen and have nav that way. thanks in advance, any info helps.

I went to comp USA only Plus, Best Buy only Plus, Staples only Plus. Maybe I have to go out of Bergen County...lol bcd1 UPDate: Went to compusa website, staples website and all they sell is the double layer plus. I did find out that the minus is also called dvd-r9 and is dual layer not double layer. Places on line do sell them but not the big boys............. go figure. bcd1

At this stage and being the 4th gen avic N series I would have to believe it would have hard drive capacity with bluetooth capabilities. I hope it would have an USB port also but that might be reserved for N5. bcd1

Yeah! Everything he said..... Garmin is the industry leader in navigation so, if price is the issue spend what you could afford. The pioneer in dash systems allow for a complete compact system but not everyone is impressed with all that and you might be one of those people so talk it over with your other half and if it's in the budget flip the coin and the rest is up to you. Mrailing, thanks I actually disconnected the unit and had warmed up the truck as well as parked in the sun, plugged it back in and same story. The problem with that scenario is even if it worked that would mean I have a tempormental head unit. Not good. I think my best bet is waiting for pioneer to open Monday. Btw I re-installed my N1 hu and I must say the N1 hu with the N3 brain I really don't see any difference at all. Everything looks and works the same. Ummmmmmm bcd

black_sedan, the same bypass would apply which would be grounding the light green wire. This would only change if you upgrade to the latest map software (60mp) at which point you would have to perform the N1 Head Unit mod. Details of that mod are and have been listed. Search and you will find the N1 mod but be careful it requires taking the head unit apart and then extremely careful soldering attaching a very small wire to 2 points. The N2 and N3 Head Unit are fairly simple to mod. Hope this helps. bcd1

Thanks Jimmy303....... I actually had already visited pioneer site and read the free fix. I was under the impression only the N1 and N2 HU were affected. But worth checking into..............I'll have to wait until Monday when they open. Again, I appreciate your response and the time you took to help me. bcd1
