  1. BTW 34by151. Happy Birthday: Ur Post was a year old last week... Cheers Gertsy
  2. I have an SANDISK 8GB sdhc micro sd (which comes with a SD adaptor) Works fine with MP3 but havent tried any movie files. Hmm, I dont even know what sort of movie files the unit will play from SD Card. mp4, avi, wmv ? Have to try it out.
  3. "a large 6.1-inch WVGA touch screen display" I tiny bit bigger than the units they released 2 years ago. I know I'm whinging but why hasn't pioneer looked at maximising the screen size and doing away with the manual buttons ? At least they got rid of the fumbling unresponsive volume / toggle stick. Why havent they looked at the intuative screen minipulation technology apple have implemented in the iphone/ipod touch? They've tarnished their "quality" brand recently. Are they being conservative now ? 7.2" Screen please (As big as can fit in 2 din). Get rid of the buttons on the side. T
  4. Hey howcome my quotes dont work? Anyhow: Is'nt the Pioneer Camera CMOS ? Or is it CCD? This is one of those "debates" that goes on in all technologies. Have a look at this accessment: http://www.dalsa.com/corp/markets/ccd_vs_cmos.aspx It seems to be a fairly unbiased view of the 2 technologies. As always there are pros and cons to all technology options and I am guessing it wont be the image technology that determines the quality of image but rather the quality of the implementation of it. In that case it's usually the cheapest source that results in the cheapest low quality produc
  5. Strike that.. I just checked the Pioneer camera spec.s and its NTSC.. Hmm lots of cheapy License Plate NTSC reverse cameras on ePay. Might have to give one a go. Gertsy
  6. Rearview Cam Question Continued. Is the camera format NTSC or PAL ? I am guessing they wouldn't bother changing the Vid format for UK / Aust to PAL for a self contained unit. Couldnt find any mention of it in the Manual. (I have an Aussie F900BT) Cheers Gertsy
  7. Soz heaps. Gotta set my security password. Gerty
  8. By the way : The video looks fine with a standard RCA Y Adaptor splitting the video line to two rear screen units. gertsy
  9. Spot on 34by151. The manual says AV sources. So I turned off AV1 and AV2 but you have to turn off the radio/sd source as well which makes sense when you stop and think about it . So thats all good.! One more question if I may. In your 2.0 update files there is a single V20a_Update1.rar archive. I haven't applied that. Only the 3 part V20a_Update.partn.rar and the *R151.partn.rar map archives. Should I have ? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and efforts. Do you have a paypal account? And do you like a drink? Because I'm happy to send you the $ to buy half a dozen or a
  10. Hi, 34by151. A follow up / or more like feedback. I cannot adjust the sound mixing between the GPS Warning/Guide voice and the radio. The "MUTE Input/Guide" option in "AV Settings" is permanently grayed. (And its set to MUTE so a little annoying) I know to adjust the "MUTE Input/Guide" settings you need to have both AV inputs set to off. Which they are. I even rebooted with them set to off but it made no diff. Just be interested if this is something other users of the mod have, but havent noticed as the setting was as they wanted when they mod'ed. Alternatively it could mean I don't have
  11. Hi Mike. It's not really about being computer literate, it's about investing the time to understand. You need to invest the time in reading all the appropriate threads and take notes. Print off instructional documents. Highlight the points in the instructions. If you don't understand any instruction conceptually you need to investigate further or ask a question specific to the actual point until you do understand. No one is going to hand it to you on a plate. It's a buffet and you have to help yourself. The guys and gals? here are great at offering suggestions on menu.(Not a precise anal
  12. Okay I'm back up an running now. Thanks to a fellow aussie. All good. I now have a full backup of my running V2 unit as is my legal right. PM if you want further info. BTW: I also found out that Aussie F900BTs have 1GB of Flash (Around 890MB formatted) And I will still follow up with pioneer. I want the software I originally paid for. (even if I don't use it) Cheers
  13. Absolutely Superb. 34by151 ! Superb. From a formatted 880GB flash. Did standard pioneer V2 flash update. from SDCARD1 Rebooted to Testmode v2.3 on SDCARD2 Removed SDCARD2 and put in your updates on SDCARD3 Copied down your updates exactly as instructed. Removed SDCARD and rebooted. Prompted for Language and Voice. Up and running like a bought one. Or closer to the truth "a supported one." Went for a 20 min drive, set up some defaults. Presets etc. All good. Did a backup once I got home to the update dir on SDCARD, copied it to my PC and USB drive. Feeling safe now. Thanks, T
  14. Hello, My Aussie F900BT did the reboot dance last weekend. I haven't done any mods on it but what I did do in the days befor it sh*t itself was change the light colour a few times. I since found out this writes to the Flash disk.. Hmmm suspicious. Anyway end result is corrupt flash disk unit and no backup. Since then I've done a bit of investigating and discovered 4 things. 1. My 12 months warranty expired 2 months ago 2. My Flash Disk now shows as 881MB in Storage Manager (testmode). i think it should be 2GB. 3. Of course I don't have a backup as Pioneer don't tell you you nee
  15. Hi thanks for the prompt response. The unit came with V2 on it. Dec 2008. i know this as I went to do a V2 update and following the instructions it said I didn't need to do it. The thing I am most worried about is I have 880MB of flash disk space. Is that correct? I thought these units had 2GB of Flash disk ? The reason I am worried is I know the flash disk board is propietry(3rd party manufacturer) and to replace it is not just plugging in a new flash disk (So pioneer say) i am quite prepared to do it myself. I restored the a US backup from this site minus the map files last night a
