  1. This issue drives me crazy. It seems worse when connected to the Ipod. In between songs is where you hear it clearly. I have purchased a new composite cable ( non-Pioneer ), but have not installed it just yet as my car is in storage. I sure hope it fixes this annoying problem.
  2. Like many others, I have had the right channel cut out and I "repaired" it by simple wiggleing the ipod cable under the dash and the sound came back. I'm not sure how I could have a loose connection, but I would much rather find a permanent solution. Is this the ipod cable you are referring to? http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB128 ... TA4MjUwNDc Does this simply replace the Pioneer cable and give you the same features?
  3. This is a great unit if you have no expectations of having it work properly. You are dis-satisfied with the functions it has and how they work, just wait until these functions no longer work, or, the whole unit stops working. That will be what will make up your mind. It's too late for me to do anything about returning mine, but I can tell you that Pioneer will never see another dime of my money again.
  4. I'm glad my instructions were able to help so many of you with similar problems. I have a new problem now so I hope I can search and find a solution for me. I'm sure a swing of a baseball bat will do the trick. POS.
  5. I could not agree with your statements any more. You must have read my mind. I will never buy another Pioneer product of any kind again.
  6. I honestly don't think it would make any difference. The only difference between the F900BT and the F90BT is the higher voltage output on the F90BT. Also, The F90BT came with the Ipod/USB cable.
  7. You need to be a little more specific when you say it did not work. I will assume that you de-compressed the .rar files? Are you not getting to the windows screen or is it that after you install all the files, it still does not boot-up correctly? One thing that I did that I forgot to mention is that I reinstalled Firmware 2.006 prior to doing the "fix" just to see if maybe this was a simpler solution to erasing the flash disk and starting from scratch. It did not work, so I had no choice but to do all the steps listed above.
  8. First, let me start out this thread by saying that without this forum, I would be up a creek without a paddle, trying to fix this POS Avic F900BT. As has been a well documented problem with the screen going blank after the flash screen boots up. I spent many tedious hours reading all the various post concerning this issue and trying to follow the directions given by the OP, only to find many procedural errors, or very important information missing. I have copied and pasted the original posters thread into this one, and I will add or correct the info given. I will put all of my comments and upd
  9. Well, I got to this same point and had the same result. I spent nearly an entire day trying to figure it out, but in the end I was successful. What I had to do was download the 2.006 firmware from Pioneers website under the support tab. Go to older models, find F900BT and click. Locate the update tab, then download the file. http://pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Supp ... BT.Support Once the file is downloaded to your computer, unzip it. Click on the folder F-series firmware update, then click on the folder LPUE080, then click on the folder PLT. You will find two files in this folder. WINC
  10. As many others have had the same issue as myself, my F900BT will not boot-up correctly. It goes to the splash screen and then shuts off. I have spent 4 hours reading all the relevant posts and searching for info and I am more confused as which direction to go. My unit came with firmware 2.0 installed and I "updated" it to 2.006 earlier this summer. I do not have any other mods except for the DVD wiring by-pass. So, here are my questions: ( 1 ) If I were to purchase the 3.0 navigation update from Pioneer, would this solve my issue? ( 2 ) I have searched for the V2.3 testmode and dow
  11. One Bad Stang, Thank-you very much for your input. I read your post regarding the install on your car. After reading through 12 pages of posts to try to find what I was looking for, I figured I may as well start a new post. There are a number of discrepancies I have read on different installs on other forums ( Mustang related ). Hopefully you will be able to assist me as our cars are the same model year. First, I think you may have made a typo on the Metra harness as I had looked it up and found the part # to be 70-5521. Next, some people say that you need to run a separate wire t
  12. First of all, I would like to thank all the knowledgable people on this forum. I have read and learned a lot from you. I am a newbie to this forum as well as being a newbie to the F900BT. I just ordered this unit on Ebay and I would like to collect all the parts and info I will need to complete the install. If you guys/girls can point me in the right direction as to what to purchase and where, I would appreciate it. I am replacing the Shaker 500 head unit in my '07 Mustang GT with the Pioneer and I would hope that everything else will work. ( door subs ) Here is what I am looking f
