  1. I now see that. It has reared it's ugly head again with iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.2. Lightning adapter worked for 2 days then WHAM
  2. As an update to this problem... It has become so pervasive that I cannot use my iPhone in the summer until the truck has been running for over 30 minutes. I added an extra ground and it stopped the head unit from rebooting when plugging in the phone. I actually found a setting in the phone regarding the phone and connecting it to the head unit. IT MUST BE PLUGGED INTO THE PIONEER TO SEE THIS ITEM! Perform a restore factory settings in the head unit which deleted all iPhones and iPod's I had connected by Bluetooth. Then... After plugging it into the Pioneer, go to settings- general-abou
  3. After trying my wife's phone, I found out that this was not a fix but merely a band-aid on the real problem. After closely looking at the plug on my unit's dongle, I realized it had a slight curvature when viewed from the side. That was what was causing my failed connections. Apparently, since the pin outs are so small and there is little room for error, the problem was actually that my plug was damaged. The good news is I was able to fix it myself with a needle and a couple of other tools which I used to lift the copper pins inside and straighten the plug. Bottom line, I could have done
  4. I fixed the "authorization failure" on my iPhone. It had been happening more and more frequently so I got to thinking what if it was because my VR dictionary was out of sync. I turned on update VR and haven't had the problem since. No new cable needed. It was tripped up because of the new songs on my device.
  5. Seriously, call them back like I did. When you cancell, they will tell you at the end, you will continue to get the service free until 1/1/12. The first guy that told me I had to get cut off sounded like he was high as a kite and then smoked one more. The second lady was nice and courteous and gave me darn near all my money back even though I have used it for 9 months. I get $116 back and keep the service. NICE!!!!
  6. When I called, they would not rebate my $$ unless I cancelled. Looks like I am a lifetime subscriber until 1/1/12 and then I will get about $2 back when they get around to sending me a check. Update: Called back. Have used the service for about 9 months. They refunded me (or will refund) 116.08 out of 129.00 and she said I will continue to receive the service for free. The faster you call, the more you will be refunded. Thanks as always to the posters who help each other out.
  7. Yesterday my less than a month old F900 kept getting stuck in the "loading" mode and eventually rebooting about every 5 minutes. I troubleshot it to corrupt files in the iGO folder. Every one of the files in the iGO folder lost their names and attributes. I had to dismount the drive in the control panel, several attempts to fix the file tables were to no avail. Eventually, I had to do a full reformat on it (a quick format did not work) and replace all of the files. Good thing I backed them all up on a 2GB flash drive. Has this happened to anyone else? ... and before you flame me, no I did no
  8. I had the same problem after installing dumpystig's hacks (which were very nice). I restored the sys.txt file, data. zip file and the fonts that were overwritten and voila... I was able to apply Pioneer's bluetooth update and everything was fine. If you did a full backup of "my flash disk", just restore that and you will be fine. Do not believe those that tell you that it is a bluetooth hardware failure and must be sent to pioneer. That was not the case with mine.
  9. My F900BT (new in box) started having the same problem (software version: not available) and I could not connect my phone after I applied Dumpystig's hacks which included 2 fonts, a data.zip and a sys.txt. I was able to fix it by manually copying all of the files that come in the pioneer 2.0 update to the root of my flash disk and overwriting the old ones. I also restored the data.zip and sys.txt and deleted the two fonts that were added to the igo folder. Next, I loaded up the SD card and viola, the bluetooth software was back to ....RC3 and I was able to update the bluetooth from the
  10. OK, now that we have established that the problem is that the head unit does not send the preset up/preset down signal to the remote, we really need some of these smart hack/mod folks to fix this for us. I know I would really love to have this function back on my steering wheel buttons. Leaning over every time you want to change the XM channel is a pain in my back!!! literally.
