Well I have decided to pull the F90BT and go for a Excelon instead. My audio guy will take my Pioneer and apply the amount I spent to the new Excelon thats coming out in 2 weeks. I have no problem contributing to this forum or posting some of my own mods when I get around to hacking them - but this is something I want to change now and not wait for days of searching through countless posts. There are so many posts here - impossible for someone to read through everything to find that one that does what they want. Even with a search, you would have to comb through post after post. This is why I thought it was a good idea for a FTP site. Here is a suggestion - place some rules for posting final mods.... 1. Subject must contain the word "FTP" (if the files are to be posted to the FTP) and the word "FINALMOD" (if this is a final working and tested mod) 2. I have a really hard time seeing the map in my car. The font they use sucks. The street names on top of the street lines make it hard to read. There is no contrast. The information is too small. Has anyone changed this? I like the Garmin maps. They are easy to read, the buttons are big and it's not cluttered. Can you please upload your mod if you have made these changes? I also am looking for a mod to change the size of the incoming phone icons and buttons, the volume up and down. They made the window big but the icons and buttons small. OK - these are the new setting for FTP... Upload, Download, Make Folders. What has been removed - Delete Folders, Delete/Overwrite Files. So files should be safe - just place the read me into the ZIP with the date and time of the read me posted in the thread - it should be safe and sane. I will have the F90BT posted tomorrow.

I will take away the ability to remove files. So basically one can just upload and download but not destroy or overwrite. In the thread that identifies the file to down, have a date and time of the read me file. Then when you create the zip - have the read me in the archive and if the time and date of that file does not match the time and date in the thread then we know it does not belong to the author of the thread. That will eliminate the false posts. Any other suggestions or a better way to do it? Since I have the F90BT - I will upload the archive.

Is there a way to create a thread that has all the mods which are complete and working so people don't have to search through hundreds of posts for a mod. If all these completed mods with instructions could be compiled in one place - then people can go to 1 place to pick and chose what they want. I like learning about whats going on but most of the posts are troubleshooting. Well at some point the mod is as good as it's going to get. No need to spend hours reading through something that's complete. Anyways - thanks

However I will set up a backup to my home computer in case someone decides to crap on us. Just create a folder and upload your mods into it.

Just a suggestion and an offer - anyone interested in me creating a central location for mods? I can set up an FTP folder on a T1 and each person that creates a mod can upload their stuff to their own folder. This way all the stuff is in one location. Authors can manage their own files as they update their mods. This might cut down on searching for files. People will also know that they have the latest updates. I have plenty of space and can set it up today just give me the go.

I am new here - interested in helping out. There are alot of hackers in the communities I frequent that could figure this out - and change it if it can be changed. They will know if it was coded into the chips or if it's all software. One question - was the message prior to V2 the same as V2? I mean exactly the same?
