  1. I just spoke with pioneer tech support and they said I do not need to install the vss wire b/c the unit has a gyro sensor that can take care of calcuations and such. I have a 2003 Mercedes Benz E55 Amg which does not have a vss wire and runs through a canbus system. If you take into the sensor wires off the wheels then the abs and traction control don't work and mess up too. Pioneer told me also not to tape into those wires. just wanted to hear your thoughts guys and if this is indeed true. I know the unit will work without hooking it up and so will the GPS but he tells me that I will not
  2. I called up a good soure and found out no cross over is needed. The tweeters are run in parallel with the speakers from factory. So when I get the wires in the back trunk there is just the power and ground wire for the from left front speaker (for example). When tweeter and the speaker are run in parallel there is already a bass blocker that was attached to the tweeter in order to prevent this high low mixup and blowing the tweeter. Therefore there is no need for a crossover cause the bass blocker is protecting the tweeters. =) tis true?

  4. page 13 of the install manual its a light green wire.. look it up in the install manual.. a copy is on pioneers website... i have a Z1
  5. power supply side of the parking break switch.. do i still connect this? i know i ground the one wire and then the new wire i put in the back of the headunit... what do i do with the "power supply side of the parking break switch wire"??
  6. do I still connect the parking break power wire? i know i need to ground the one wire for it and then run another wire off the wiring harness and ground it for my particular model. Am I to assume I still need to wire the parking break power wire or just let it go?
  7. country lover do you have aim or something so we can chat really quick? I have a few questions about the cross over and can give you all the specs you need on my system to make an educated choice on a good crossover and how to connect it.. thanks man oh yah and do you know where the reverse wire is at??? i totally forgot about that ugh.
  8. cntryluvr should I run a cross over then? do you run those inline with the speaker wire... grr how does this crossover thing work folks... please help me.. also location of the green black wire would be great what crossover should i buy with my setup? do you have aim or something countrylvr so i could ask you a few of these questions quickly?
  9. countrylvr could you please give me a location that would mean the world to me? also if you could access and find the power booster to the antenna wire that would be incredible!!! p.s. - i love country music too if thats what your name is all about =) if not sorry lol
  10. i know but in that thread i gave you guys a pic of my wiring harness no such wire... i heard it may in the kickpanel and stuff??? previous to the 2000 model it could be found in the wiring harness but the fiber optics have taken its place... the fiber optic unit is getting the green/black wire somewhere??
  11. I was told no need for a crossover? is there a reason why I need a cross over? the wires are directly wired to the amp and then fed fiber optically through the head unit so maybe the crossover is an inline one?
  12. jimmy is that for a CLK? I think the wiring on our cars is completely different you know how mercedes is... i will try checking at the amp.. any idea what the AUT wire is at the amp??? also any idea where to find the power booster for the antenna... not sure if need to connect it or not.
  13. Where do I find the VSS wire for the car in the subject line? Thanks in advance
