  1. I have the same issue. The iPhone 4S plays fine after upgrading FW to 4.x using the Pioneer cable. However, the 5S with its lightning cable does not play sound.. maybe I have to try the "old" to lightning adapter again...
  2. Bummer! I sometimes wonder if the programmers are not allowed to test what they are actually doing! QC is probably an unknown term there...
  3. Just ordered mine from Crutchfield. I am curious about a number of issues that I encountered with the previous firmware such as: In random mode next song on CD is played when hitting Next, not the next random song HD radio stations are not stored with name or frequency, just Station 1 or so Navigation sometimes doesn't start properly BT phone connection active for minutes after I hung up ... I'll let you know!
  4. Unfortunately the extension doesn't necessarily indicate that the file format is supported. I had the same problem. Best solution would be to figure out one file format that works (dunno where you will find that information but I'm almost positive it's floating around here somewhere) and then get a video converter software and convert all videos to the format you know works... Sorry for that long sentence, phew!
  5. I tried it, looks nice but has too many flaws for my taste. No Bluetooth, various memory error messages etc. It is an amazing idea, don't get me wrong, but it is a work in progress. Best thing about it is that it is on an SD card hence you don't mess with the system itself. I will def. stay tuned and give it another try after the next update!
  6. I have the same issue with videos from the SD card. All files have the same ending and in properties when checked in Windows they even have the same format. But not all of them play. Whenever I find out which format works I will post it!!! Just have to try out the converter...
  7. Never tried... Hopefully I never have to. From what I read here they are very patronizing and unfriendly.
  8. Nope, I was referring to this: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21285 Pioneer updates: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Support/Navigation/AVIC+F-Series+Firmware+Update+Download Good luck!
  9. You got me on that one! But there is a bluetooth 3.3 update out which is also being discussed in this forum. Maybe that can fix the problem? It can be downloaded with instructions from the Pioneer website!
  10. The video bypass that enables you to watch DVDs and to change numerous settings while driving can be found elsewhere (http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17715). I also read that when your park brake control wire from the head unit is wired improperly you will have certain features disabled. I was assuming that when you pair a BT phone that does NOT have the option of phone book transfer then the Navi would notice that and gray out the button. I have function "transfer phonebook" in my BB when paired with the Navi; maybe you have that too?
  11. As for the last picture this is what happens when you drive - the icons will grey out so you can concentrate on driving I bet the speed unlock will do the trick. Maybe the pink wire has been connected wrong and constantly suggest the AVIC that you are driving? Did you check in your BlackBerry Bluetooth settings that the phone book transfer is allowed? That's all the help I can offer...
  12. Did you put the "Pictures" folder in the root directory of your SD card? Maybe you should also remove any other system files from the root directory just to be sure... Did you try if the SD card is recognized at all?
  13. OK, Canada is too far It is up to you if you want to keep it in the glove box. I like playing around and customizing things, as long as I can manage it! If you don't feel comfortable pulling apart your car then don't bother! It's probably not worth it But you can try the alternative with the little compartment in the middle of the dashboard. I wish I could take pics to support my words but I have to get a new camera first LOL!
  14. Since I installed everything myself (incl. HD radio, steering wheel adapter etc.) I got pretty good at it LOL! It takes about 20 min to take of the interior, just be careful not to scratch things! If you live in MD you can stop by and I'll show you how to do it. It's up to you if you want to invest some time and have it nice or not. An alternative could be the small box on top of the radio. This will take 5 min to cut a hole in the bottom of it and run the cable through there. Which model (year) SantaFe do you have?
  15. I have the 07 SantaFe and I installed the system (the 900BT tho) myself, including the bypass. I ran the auxiliary cables (i.e. A/V and USB) down the middle console. Between the two seat heating buttons there is space reserved for the 110V outlet which I don't have. So what I did was to take it out and drill a 1/2" hole into it through which I pulled the cables. You can then even use the small tray there to put your iPod or whatever... This requires disassembly of half the interior though. I can't help you with the other issues tho. PM me if you need more specific help! EDIT: I can cha
