x910bt backup camera view issues
w4rh4wk replied to redneck_mike's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
yup sounds like the camera is on the way out. That camera looks like it would work. I have a 3rd party camera on mine, i ran power to the 12v feed that the radio uses (because my camera barely uses any). -
The US firmwares are here. 3.x in my opinion should have been v1.0. It was the first most stable firmware for these units. My f700bt stopped crashing and was faster with the 3.x firmware. 4.0 has updated maps and a couple more features/bugs fixes.

usually it updates firmware/maps.

ah ok your still on firmware 2.x, when i had my 700 with the 2.x firmware it was constantly reboot and it was slower. you need the 3.x firmware the question is it still available on here. My laptop is just about out of power. I'll see if i can find some links tomorrow.

step one find out what firmware version you have and what map version. Settings>System settings>Service Menu. page 138 of your manual. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Navigation/AVIC-F700BT_OperationManual0606.pdf

looks great!

do you know if you are currently running the 2.x firmware on your unit? 3.x or higher is the way to go. I've nothing but problems on the 2.x firmware. you can either buy the map upgrade from pioneer (which will upgrade your firmware on your unit) or maybe find someone who is semi computer savvy to help you with the torrent upgrade.

i've bought parts from http://www.pacparts.com/model.cfm? when i couldn't find any parts from e-bay.

step1: find the location where you want to mount the camera and mount it. Step2:running the cables from the back to the front. I had to use a coat hanger with a closed hook at the end of it to get the cables from the tailgate to the main body frame. This step takes the most amount of time. Step 3: I had the camera draw power from the "red cable" on the pioneer head unit. The camera uses very little power and you dont want to hook it up to the yellow +12V that line is constantly on. I used the blak cable on the pioneer for the ground for the camera. step4: plug in the video cable from the c

No night vision on that camera, you can kind of see the image with assistance from the reverse lights.

not that difficult. it was only $24. I was thinking of getting some touch up paint to camouflage it.
