  1. I only have a laptop, but it can hold 2 drives. Can I put the avic drive in the laptop on the other drive connector? The instructions state that it needs to be the only device on that channel and it must be the master. I dont think I can do that with my laptop. It an HP DV8000. Thanks
  2. I may have damaged my microphone moving the system from one vehicle to another. I need to know where I can get a new one. I cannot find one on the Pioneer website. Think Radio Shack will have one that works? What size is the plug on the Pioneer mike? It wont fit into my computer, its too small, so Im unsure of what to do. Thanks
  3. My current Ipod interface is the IB100. It has been in 3 cars with 2 different radios. The ipod wire has an open in it from being moved around, plugged, unplugged, and just general use and abuse. Since you cant change the cable, I need a new one. Now pioneer has the IB100II. Is this a better unit? What are the differences between the units? Can I just pull the old box out and put the new one in or are there wiring and connection differences? I am checking into pioneers website, but their search function seems like it is down, and their documentation for the ipod modules sucks. As fas as I
  4. All fixed.. I had 12 volt in reverse at the connection to the light, but no voltage registering at the unit. No blown fuses, so a little wierd. Then I noticed that the resistance measurement was a short. So, even though it didnt blow a fuse, I was able to track down a pinch in the wire. The only spot that I forgot to zip tie out of the way from those pesky metal interior clips endend up getting pinched. So, a quick repair, and its all fixed. I bet that resistor was all that kept me from blowing a fuse. Thanks for your help!
  5. I noticed the reverse sense wire has a resistor on it. I am in the middle of troubleshooting why my reverse camera does not come on in revers anymore. It worked fine for a couple of hours. I will pull the radio, but I need to know, is this resistor needed? Im thinking I might have to replace the wire. Thanks
  6. I have a new backup camera I am adding to my system. According to the instructions, I am to tap power for it from my + and ground wires going to the reverse lights. Is this safe, or should I run it from the battery. Also, what color are the wirtes for the + and ground of the reverse lights. Thanks
  7. I live and drive in the Phoenix area.
  8. The Z2 seems to have a better display than my Z1. What I mean by that, is in the demo photo, you see grass and what looks like buildong outlines. On my Z1, all I get is tan, like there is nothing on the sides of the roads but a dirt field. Demo photo linked: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 89,00.html
  9. Thanks. I currently have it connected properly. My wife was trying to find a restraunt that was close, but could not use it, so I might have to change it. Thanks for the help.
  10. If I do the 2 wire bypass, will the unit function exactly as if I am parked with the parking brake on? Also, will I get the nag screen about the parking brake not being connected correctly? Thanks
  11. Hello. I am new to this and need some advice. I want to connect the rear monitor output to 3 or 4 monitors for my 2 rows of back seats. I want monitors that attach to the headrest, but not ones that are built into the headrest. I would like to keep the costas low as possible for the onitors, but would like a quality monitor. Can you suggest a monitor for me? Also, how do I split the output from 1 output to 4 monitors. Thanks for your help.
  12. Thanks for your help! Ill probably run the wire. I totaly spaced I need to run the camera wire.
  13. Jimmy, Can you tell me the location and wire color for the reverse signal in a 2005 explorer? Im looking for an easy one, I really dont want to run a wire all the way to the back of the truck unless I have to. Thanks for you help Steven
  14. Heres a little more info. I have a 2005 Explorer. It did have the grey/black wire behind the radio. It was NOT in the main radio harness. There is a secondary harness in the dash. It looks like a 16 pin square connector, but there were only 2 wires in it. One of them was the VSS wire. The secondary connector is used for premium audio systems. Mine was not a premium system, so this connector was tucked away where it was hard to find. It does meet up with the wires from the primary connecctor, so if you follow it back far enough you should find the other connector. Also, I do NOT know if al
