You should be able to make it plug and play since you already have an aftermarket harness coming off your factory harness. Rest should be pretty straight forward.

How are these units compared to the Z2? I know the Z2 is old now however I enjoyed my unit very much but looking to upgrade with updated maps and streaming feature.

Currently have Z2 and want to upgrade with current maps. What would be a good unit to move up to?

It seems to be worth getting fixed if you are still getting use out of it. The only thing I've read is that there won't be any updated maps.

From what I read, you may want to consider newer Z model and not the Z1-Z3 since Pioneer won't be updating maps for it and I believe the last update was 2012. Really sucks to find this out.

Sucks to find out they won't be providing map updates. I may have to change my unit now. They should support the Z model since it was their flagship unit.

I downloaded the files like it said then I also did the force reflash. Every time I try to execute it tells me "no program file" I've downloaded the program twice and copied it twice but still the same comment. Now when the unit turns on it says loading navigation and then it says update failed. It just keeps going in a look between those screens. Any help would be much appreciated as I am frustrated with this unit and having no music while driving.

I already have xm w/navtraffic and wanted to know if I can still connect the sirrus tuner or am I only restricted to one provider? TIA

Text to speech was the main reason I bought the Z2 over the eclipse double din but after installing the unit I realized that it only did main streets. I hope there is some type of update which could fix that.

Well all this will be getting done to my 01 S4. I am not restricted to one type of music, I listen to everything. I was going to change out my subs I currently have the diamond audio mac daddies. I was going to go with xtant and their amps. Component wise I like the diamond audio but I wanted to see what else is better out there. I was looking at Kicker SS series comp but again fitment issues.

I never had the Z1 so I do not know what has really improved. From what I've heard from my friends they say the IPOD interface has gotten better. I would enjoy the Z2 more if I could bypass it none the less it is still a nice unit. I am waiting for my bluetooth to come in so I can connect my treo and also waiting to hook up the back up camera from pioneer.

The dash from metra for 00-02 B5 S4 is 99-9105. I like the setup of the diamond audio. I currently have their HEX components in the front and their subs. I am switching to somthing else soon. I just do not want my whole trunk taken up. I want to keep my spare in there, so I'll end up prob doing somthing very simple. I am looking at MTX 8500 or 9500 series subs(10s) or even xtant product.

Are you sure its pioneer? I know eclipse(fujitsu-ten) has been making toyota/lexus OEM navi. Since they own a good amount of the company stocks. Also if you have ever noticed their 04-06 model OEM navi looks just like any eclipse aftermarket navi units(5435/5495/5500/6600/etc)

Thank you for the site.... I downloaded the program but I can't seem to burn it in ISO image. I got it to copy in some format and then burn it on the the Double layer disc but nothing. If someone could chime in once again i'd appreicate that. TIA
