1. My Z1 is installed in my "big truck" too. I have a 2000 Volvo VNL64T. The installer I used didn't bother to try and hook up the VSS, parking brake, reverse, or illumination wires. The truck has cruise control, so I don't know what the problem would be for any installer if they knew what they were doing. Of course, they also left the antenna/GPS wires exposed instead of removing the plastic trim panels to route them.
2. I drive about 3000 miles a week. It's pretty rare that the tracking cursor leaves the road. There's only 2 places I know that it does this: US-27 between Carrolton and LaGrange, GA, and US-280 between Opelika and Birmingham, AL. Both of these roads have been re-routed in new construction. My VSS wire is not hooked up. The cursor has never shown the vehicle travelling in a direction that I wasn't going-unless I take off before I have given it a chance to get it's bearings. Sometimes, if the truck has been shut off for some time, it may take it a second. I have recognized this, and l
3. Mine is mounted in a semi truck. I saw this excessive vibration message, too. I haven't had any problems with it, and it's been in the truck for 4 months now.
4.

Yes, they work fine. There are restaurants, stores, etc all in the POI listings. The listings seem about a year old, but they will take you right to it. Make sure you check the address icon and match it up. Some businesses like Wal Mart will build a new location.
We had fun when trying to find the local pizzaria in the poi..,. Best find so far was... "Ziggy Goldbergs Pizzaira" somewhere on peachtree (obviously a new age Italian, Jewish house of food) BUT if anyone's ever eaten there, I'm open to reviews (we just couldn't bring o

Like when you select Georgia Dome does it lead you right to it and etc? I just want to be safe without the maps. Thanks and God Bless.
Yes, they work fine. 6. I think the information is taken from participating DOT databases. I find that the information is somewhat behind. I would guess about 15-30 minutes. It IS fairly accurate in reporting (despite the delay). I have only re-routed once. I drive a truck in Atlanta daily, and know the traffic is pretty much screwed. In a car, it might work perfect to get off the highway and use city streets. Unfortunately, I drive a tractor-trailer, and most of the time it makes more sense to stay on the highway. The highways will be highlited in green, yellow, or red depending on conditions. And y
7. Is the Pioneer discussion site part of the survey? Or is this something all of us can access? I would love to give them my thoughts on this thing. I love the unit, but it needs work!
8. Will this work with the bluetooth headset? Or is it just through the speakers and mic? I drive a semi truck, and I'm worried about the ambient noise. I haven't tried the mic with any success, but the steering remote works great.
9. If you're in a car in Atlanta, you're fine. I am in a tractor-trailer. The navigation will sometimes tell you to take a u-turn when you don't need to. I haven't found any roads in Atlanta that aren't in it, yet.
10. I am happy with the Z1. I just want the navigation bugs fixed. It is well worth the money for all the bells and whistles. For the average trip in a passenger car, you should be pretty happy with the navigation.
11. I really want to love this unit. I do-to a point. I have in installed in my work truck, which happens to be a Volvo semi truck. I pull 53 foot trailers delivering to Wal Marts. The XM works perfect. I like the NavTraffic a lot. Having a DVD player I can watch when I have down time is very nice. The navigation? Not so much. The way the Z1 routes me at times can be really bad. I know it's more geared for passenger cars, but that's not really the problem. Today, for instance, I routed from my last stop to home. The unit had me turn right, and then take a left, and began to tell me
12. I have had mine installed for about a week. I drive for a living in the Atlanta area. The information does tend to be a little behind at times. It does offer alternative routes when yours is clogged. I like it so far-it's the navigation that bugs me.
13. It's got a nice sized fan in the back to cool it off. Unless your inner dash is hotter than usual, it should be fine.
