I got a Avic-F90bt and I want to install it in my 2005 jetta GLI. Cartoys was quoting me 150 for the dash kit and harness and then another 350 for the install of the unit. They said it was more complicated with my VW monsoon sound system. Is this price CRAZY???? Should i be expecting to pay 500.00 to install? I was thinking it would be like half that. any advise would be great! Thanks!

I actually have a question along the same lines I can get a F90bt for around 600.00 (cartoys online) the same cost as the new U310BT (pre-order crutchfield). I am not really going to be using video so that does not really matter so much. I am just wondering if the new software and ipod interface in the U310BT is the best cost option? I know the F90BT has a bigger screen and voice command but would need the 130.00 software upgrade. So im torn? Should I jump on the f90BT while its stll out there or wait for the new one? Anyone???

Wow these all look like great units. I am curious to know more about the AVIC-U310BT as well. I am in the market for a new unit and I have never had any AVIC before. Curious to know.... I can get a AVIC-F90bt for the same price as a AVIC-U310BT!! Is this the better route to go since the software update will basically make it an X series? I dont use video in the car, just want the up to date navigation and speedy technology. MC~
