  1. While you still had the 4100, did you ever figure out a way to dim google maps so it's not so washed out?
  2. That worked for me but only for a day or so. It's worth a shot because it's easy but unfortunately it didn't stay fixed. I had the same problem as you with my 80GB classic. I made the guess that the head unit was supplying low voltage to the ipod and that when it switched tracks the power demand was enough higher that it choked. So I bought a 2-into-1 usb cable and I now supplement the power to the ipod with a 12V to usb lighter adapter. Result: rock-solid performance from the ipod. Worked for me.
  3. I went with a garmin unit. Plugs right in and works better than the pioneer unit.
  4. My ipod issue was different than yours but maybe the solution will help someone. My problem was that the ipod(80gb classic) was turning off between tracks. The head unit took this as the ipod being disconnected and switched the AV source to "off" and requiring that I disconnect/reconnect the usb to get my F700 to recognize the ipod again. I made the guess that the head unit was supplying low voltage to the ipod and that when it switched tracks the power demand was enough higher that it choked. So I bought a 2-into-1 usb cable and I now supplement the power to the ipod with a 12V to usb lighter
  5. Not yet, but in Alex's defense: I just put the F90BT on my desk back to stock versions (data.zip, sys.txt, etc) and deleted all user save data. Rebooted, and the AV.exe clock went an hour ahead even with my timezone set manually in iGo's (didn't do this w/ 2.006). Looks like it's a bug w/ the way iGo 8.3 sets the date/timezone when it gets a GPS lock to me... Especially since I can go do this: [*:2hniftuw]Start in Settings->Navi Settings->GPS & Time Settings [*:2hniftuw]Set to Auto timezone (and swear under breath that the damn thing thinks I'm in Idaho now) [*:2hniftuw]Bac
  6. Excellent mod. The only issue I had with the previous version was the inconsistency with going to plan mode when selecting a destination and you fixed that. Thanks for the great work.
  7. Nice work. I really like your mod. I have a couple of questions though: 1. I can get to plan mode by Route > Plan. Is there a faster way? 2. On some of my favorites, selecting the destination immediately starts navigation. On others, selecting them takes me to the plan mode with the cursor at the selected location. I prefer the former. Can I make the others work the same way? Thanks
  8. Where did you find the mic wire? Did you need to re-wire the end to mate up with the AVIC head unit? I would like to try that on my Silverado, so any help would be appreciated.
  9. Maybe this is too obvious but did you upgrade your firmware to 3.01 first?
  10. Worked like a charm, parentheses and all.
  11. Excellent! That did the trick. I will try loading it up on the unit tomorrow. Most of my numbers have parens around the area code and hyphens between prefix and suffix so I am anticipating that I may have a problem there. We'll see. Thanks again.
  12. I am having trouble making this work and I hope you can help. I have changed the file names to the following: Const SQDB As String = "c:\temp\PhoneBookxxxxxxxxx.db" Const SQLfile As String = "c:\temp\contacts.sql" Const SQLITE As String = "c:\temp\sqlite3.exe" The first file name is actually the file my nav unit created so I think I am OK there. The other file names I changed to c:/temp/*.* because I don't have a D drive. I can get through loading the text into the macro editor and running the macro. I get two choices and select "ThisOutlookSession.ContactsToSQDB" and run
  13. Sounds like you only edited the drop down menu under the section and not the expandable menu that is at the bottom. Scroll down about halfway down the file and there are settings there for in route and not in route of the quick menu. They are in the section. You want to toy with the X and Y settings in this section for when in route and not in route: The nice thing is if you go back to the original file you can just put the trip computer in the same place as the MSN button. All the coordinates should be there for you in both route and not in route. Nice! It took s
  14. Although I have tried lots of the great mods here, this one really works good for me. I had never dug into the coding before so I started small by getting rid of the MSN stuff. I was successful except for one problem. The trip computer main button is up where the MSN button used to be just like I want it. But when I tap that button, the sub-buttons show up one row down where they always were. Can anyone educate me on how to fix this?
