  1. I purchased a used car with a Z1 installed. The car has steering wheel controls. Everything worked flawlessly at first but now: 1. Sometimes when a song ends, instead of going to the next song, it goes to the next CD. 2. Sometimes when I raise the volume using the steering wheel button, it goes on to the next song. 3. Sometimes when I press the button on the wheel to advance to the next track, the radio goes to AM or FM 4. Sometimes when I press the "lower volume" on the steering wheel, it actually raises the volume The buttons on the unit seem to work ok so it leads me to believe

    Removing Z1

I bought my wife an '06 Buick Lucerne and would like to do the bypass on the Z1. I haven't a clue how to remove the unit. I realize that maybe different cars have different methods but I'm hoping I might get some info here. I can't see how it can be accessed from the rear and the face plate is actually part of the nav unit. Am I missing something pretty basic? Thanks for any responses.
  3. Oh, thank you for the reply....makes sense.
  4. Whats the best way to ground the two wires? #1 wire....disconnect from the e-bake switch and run the wire to a bolt or screw? #2 wire...Relocate a wire and then connect it to the unit's ground wire via a connector? This stuff is basic to some of you folks but I have very little experience with automotive electrics. Are there better ways? Thanks in advance
  5. Aw, now thats what I needed to know. Apparently the unit does not have bluetooth. I wouldn't mind getting my wife one but I'm still not clear on how the unit comes out. Does the faceplate just pop off? Do you access it from under the dash? I very much appreciate your response.
  6. I just bought my wife a used car ( '06 Buick Lucerne ) and it has a ZI mounted indash. I'm not having any success with the bluetooth. I really have no idea if it's even available in this unit. This is what I do know: When I open the "Connection" option, the bluetooth shows NOKI with a symbol that looks similar to a martini glass ( well, thats what it looks like to me.) This leads me to believe that the last owner had a phone hooked up. The "Phone Menu" is grayed out and can't open I set the cell phone to "Search for "connection" and it came up with nothing. There is what looks
