  1. There is a setting that you can enter that controls how far down the volume goes when a call is being made or received. You can also have it set to mute, which is what mine is set for. See chapter 31, page 170 of the manual. You'll see "Touch [Mute Level]. Each touch of the [Mute Level] changes the settings as follows: *20dB: the volume becomes 1/10th *10dB: The volume becomes 1/3 All: The volume becomes 0
  2. Ok, I have a dumb question. I inserted SD card #1 into my MBP, and when I hit "get info", it says the capacity is 7.8GB (it's an 8GB card, so that's ok), and it supposedly has 3.9GB Free space on it. I then downloaded the "Optional POI Data for 2010" as directed here: https://www.pioneernavigationupdate.com ... assword.do Those files total about 813mb, so I had PLENTY of free space on SD Card #1. However, it appears locked, as if I cannot add anything else to it. Is that true? I need to have a different SD card to do this, even with all of that space left over on SD card number 1
  3. Does anyone know if the upgrade knocks out the yellow wire brake bypass?
  4. For what it's worth, mine now shows the following delivery schedule for UPS: Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 06/25/2010. Pretty cool -pick up my new iPhone on Thursday, get the new Pioneer upgrade on Friday.
  5. Thanks. That's disappointing, as one would expect a high-end unit to be fully loaded and have more capability that a stock dealer upgraded unit. In the video, there are statements made that they are "1-2 years ahead of everyone else", but simple things like this show that isn't true. Personally, what I don't want is a lot of complexity in system operation, I want simple functionality that works - much like my new 27" quad core 16GB iMac - and my new iPhone 4 when it gets here on Thursday
  6. Yes. Thanks! Impressive video, I hope they have fixed some of the issues that bugged me. These are simple issues too. For example, on my stock 2008 Avalanche LTZ system, I had presets that I could switch between that included AM/FM channels as well as XM channels. I liked alternating between our local rock station FM99 and Boneyard and Hairband on XM and it made it quite easy to do having those as preset stations that were shown together (like 1-6 across the bottom of the screen), rather than having a listing of XM presets separate from a listing of FM presets where you had to
  7. here you go from the top of the forum viewtopic.php?f=56&t=32982 Thanks! Appreciate the help.
  8. I too have received a shipping notice. I don't really care as much about the map upgrades as I do about the upgraded GUI. Maybe this has already been discussed in this forum and I have missed it, but can someone point me to a URL where I could view the updated GUI and what it will do? Will it turn a 110BT into a 120BT, so I should just look for that? Maybe I missed it on Pioneer's site, but I was a little disappointed that when I visited the upgrade site I didn't see any images or video of the changed GUI. As for the shipping, I noticed in the pdf file I received with the emailed
  9. Thanks. I added the amp, and apparently couldn't run the stock Bose speakers with it. BTW - I'm not running JBL speakers, they are JL Audio and Alpines. Funny, the guys at the car stereo shop that helped had a saying "No highs, no lows.....must be Bose". I have had no change in dash illumination after installation, so I don't know what might be up with your system. Perhaps someone else in the forum knows? Also, I just bought an iPad, would love to have that hooked up in the dash! Someone has already done that for a car, check out the video on YouTube:
  10. Congrats! Hope you enjoy it. As for OnStar, I could care less about that - too expensive for what you get. Have a great weekend!
  11. I was able to keep the door chimes. However, I did not keep the factory speakers or amp. I am told the amp is under the passenger seat, but I haven't checked.
  12. Pretty good deal on Amazon right now - $29.94: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-CD-IU50-i ... 760&sr=8-5
  13. Thanks. It is coming with Snow Leopard - can't wait to get it going. On the Windows Vista side, it has Ultimate. I'll upgrade that to Windows 7 next month. Hate Vista and it's UAC (which is turned off right now).
  14. Thanks! My windows PC (an HP Pavilion dv6675us) crashed late yesterday, so I got it back up and running and ready so that when I got ready to work this morning I would be all set. What happens? I found it had crashed again - "Windows had to recover from an Unexpected Error". The macbook pro I bought is the 17" 2.8g model, with Windows Vista Ultimate already installed. It also comes with Office 2008 for Mac. Question: I assume I would run Office 2008 for Mac directly on the mac side. Would the Windows Vista Ultimate side run standard Office 2007 for PC? There will be a lea
