  1. I got some complaints from people with my Pioneer Mic... I uninstalled the unit when I sold my car and am about to install in my new one, but I ordered the Mic from Amazon for $5 with free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-External-M ... B000F7A832
  2. all of the issues I had with the unit have been resolved with this update.
  3. Performed the update yesterday morning and have had no problems so far.
  4. OH GLORIOUS DAY!! I will be performing this tonight! :) THANKS!
  5. I got mine for $160 through the Pioneer accomodation program and I'm extremely happy with it, even with the navi freezing from time to time. My Bluetooth works flawlessly. I'd go for it.
  6. yeah, that doesn't work for me because my touch screen is unresponsive when the unit freezes. my only option is the little reset button i have to press with the stylus or a pen.
  7. maybe i'm just a little slow, but i don't see any 'eject SD' button. the only thing i can find that is even close is just popping the dummy card physically out of the face plate. the only eject button i see is the one to eject a CD.
  8. I can also confirm that grounding the parking brake wire works. I drive 110 miles a day, every day, and have had the unit installed for a few weeks now.
  9. someone in the general forum said to do a reset without losing audio settings, hit the 'eject SD' button.
  10. Sorry to hear that it freezes pretty much every time. Did you get a chance to call Pioneer? Based on symptoms you mentioned, it seem something to do with battery in that detachable screen. May be it is not holding the charge, and that is causing issue? You can try this, bring that detachable screen to inside home, keep charging whole night, and check next morning if it still freezes after install the screen. I think it has something to do with the power on/off procedure. I expected to see the Pioneer splash screen and have to touch the 'OK' button every time I turn the car on, mu
  11. You mean only once it happend, or everytime you start the car? it seems to only do it after the car has been sitting for a while. It freezes every morning when i first start it to leave for work, but if i stop to get gas and turn the car off, pump gas for a few minutes and turn the car back on it's fine. I drive to work, it sits for 8+ hrs and needs to be reset again. this wasn't really a big deal to me at first until i realized that all of my audio settings drop when i do a soft reset. i spent a good hour tweaking the audio settings only to learn they all get wiped out when i do
  12. Hmm.. It sucks to hear about GPS Freezing. I think I already heard this from few people. Did you call Pioneer about this issue? Any info from them. Hope it can be fixed with firmware updates. I preferred this unit because it is simple and has the all the functionality I was need, and of course GPS functionality is one of the main functions. it has only done it when i first start the car. a simple soft reset fixes it. not a huge deal and i expect pioneer will release an update for it soon.
  13. another guy with the same issue. i just installed mine last night and it froze on me 3 out of the 5 times i turned the key on, regardless of a USB device. not a huge deal, but an annoyance. would be nice if it got resolved and it's just something we can download/update on the removable part with our computers.

    My install

agreed. i installed mine last night and while i've never had any type of navi/video screen in my car, it doesn't feel too small. i can still see what i need to see without any extra effort.
  15. i installed mine in a 98 acura integra and placed the GPS antenna on my dashboard right in front of the clock. it is short enough that it doesn't obstruct my view and reception is very good. i popped the clock out of the dash, fished the green connector down and routed it through all of the wires and such down to my console. easy peasy lemon squeezy! I haven't messed with the microphone/BT stuff yet.
