  1. I checked the original dvd...I only see one BGOPEN.jpg and one BGOPEN2.jpg. I checked all the folders....nothing that resembles these files.. Could by chance Pioneer have changed the software.....copy protecting some files...I just bought the unit....I was also told they will be discontinued and replaced by the D3 Thanks again Tom

Thanks for the helpful replys....I didnt realize there were two BGOPEN.jpg files.....I will try replacing both of them...as well as burning at a lower speed... 1 Are both BGOPEN files in the same BG folder? 2. Does DVD media have different formats like (+ / -). The guy at the store wasnt sure......if so what should I be using? 3. Am I correct in using the Nero "copy data" function(with the DVD function chosen). I will also try a different brand media.....l PS. I still cannot get this thing to work....I will post in detail what I am doing..If anyone can see where I may be going wrong in the process I post please let me know....your help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!! I load the Pioneer Navigation DVD into the DVD burner.....I open "my computer" / and then open the drive containing the Navigation DVD. I highlight all the folders and files that are there. I then drag these files/folders to a folder on my desktop which I made for this purpose only. I open this folder and click on the folder labeled BG....in there .... I find and delete the BGOPEN

Administration: You should think about blocking him from posting..he is very abrasive with people when they are having trouble figuring something out This is very frustrating when you are trying to get answers and you are constantly getting bombarded by his useless posts I dont think there is much that can be done about this....but you should try Thanks tom

  7. Jason...I appreciate your help.....I dont see the instructions posted in your last thread.... Let me tell you what I did in detail and see where I am going wrong.. I load the Navigation DVD into the DVD burner.....I open my computer / and the appropriate drive containing the Navigation DVD and highlight all the folders and files that are there. I then drag these files/folders to a folder on my desktop which I made for this purpose only. I open this folder and click on the next folder labeled BG....in there ....   9. Didnt think I was making demands....I have searched and searched...probably spent 4 hrs....Called Nero customer service with no help. I found no old threads concerning how to use the Nero software to extract replace and burn a new DVD......not sure if the way I am doing it is in the right format or what or do I have a problem with the software.....actually just spent the last 2 hours trying again...no luck So you can see where I would get very frustrated when I asked for more help and all I get is replys telling me to search, telling me I am not computer literate...etc.. I am very computer literate....this is why I am posting...because something is working properly...I have done everything you mentioned in your above post.....but it doesnt work......that is why I asked for a more detailed explination......that is what this forum is for right???   13. I have search high and low for for answers to my question...here is where I am at (other than pulling my hair out). I only want the boot screen changed...not the background. I have Neto DVD external burner and software. I have dual layer Recordable DVD's. I also downloaded one of the jpegs allready sized (500x 240). I was told that I needed to delete the BGOPEN2.JPG file and insert the JPEG I wanted. My problem is using the Neto software......can someone tell me in detail what I need to do in the Neto software to copy the DVD, delete and add Jpegs....and then burn. I have tried
  14. Can you go into detail on how to copy the DVD to the hard drive and then once replacing the file jpg how to burn ...what kind of DVD do I need? Do I need to use a DVD decrypter? all info would be helpful... I have the Nero DVD external burner but cannot figure how to do this....The only way I could burn the DVD was to use the backup option....but it didnt work..
