Hi guys, I am having a similar issue and am hoping someone has an idea why. From time to time my front left and front right speakers stop working. They do not stop at the same time, nor is there a pattern to when they stop (EDIT: Regardless of the title of this thread, i have not noticed a relation to the temperature, but I will try to see if it is related in the coming days). However if i increase the volume, which ever speaker is not working springs back to life and all is fine for maybe a week, maybe more, maybe less. Any ideas on what could cause the speakers to stop working, and

how did u put the onstar mic and the nav mic together? do you mean same spot, or use the same mic. Id like to do that but i couldnt when i tried. id appreciate ur help.

the manual for the CD-UB100 (USB adapter) sais that it is touch operational with the Z1. Looks like you cant transfer the music to the hard drive of the Z1 but you can have a usb flash drive with all of you music hooked up to it and you can play them that way

the z1 works great in my area also, that is chicago and the neighboring suburbs. GO CUBS!!! , GO CHICAGO!

so, you cant get the map update without updating to the Z2 software?

from reading the manual it looks like the z1 falls under group 4 head units, which will have touch screen operation of teh usb unit. this is directly from teh manual: Folder number—track number—play time— folder name—file name—album title—track title—artist name # If the characters recorded on the audio file are not compatible with a head unit, those characters will not be displayed. Notes ! When using this unit as an external unit, head units can display the first 8 letters of the folder name, the file name, the album title, the song title, the artist name.

yeah that would work, but the problem i have is that the vehicle will be sending the wrong speed pulse. Since i am changing the tire size, but the vehicle will not be recalibrated, it will send the a wrong pulse, which should theoretically be 7% slower than the actaul speed. Is this right? thanks for the reply!

hey everyone. Im planning on changing my tires from 32 inches to 35 inches, however i was wondering if that would throw off the navigation since the speedo speed will be different than the actual speed (the vehicle cannot be calibrated for 35 inch tires, 33 inch max). The diffrence will be about 7%, the speedo will show 7% slower than actual speed. Would that screw with navigation? I cut the vss(reset learning) wire to see how it would be without it connected all together, but at times when im moving very slowly it does not register the motion, and it lags behind, so i think it would

try pressinbg and holding the name of the memo for several seconds. took me a while to figure that out, deleted the whole list twice by accident until i learned.

hey everyone, great info on here! I first tried the volume lowering thing and it had no effect. Then I tried the update cd and it worked great, i have the volume to a little bit under teh max and get no echo, except when people start screaming at me they can sometimes hear themselves, but i think thats normal. I burned the cd using nero, just clicked on burn image to disc, pointed it to the image and it worked great. the update completed in 2-3 minutes, no problems at all. once again great info on here and thanks to everyone who was involved in getting this update made and to th

hey everyone. I got the rattle too and i think i know where its coming from. Mine might be a diffrent ratle from yours but try this. When you hear the rattle (mine is not rattle all the time, just sometime, maybe mos times) take you finger and put it on the black trim piece (that surrounds the actual screen itself) on the top towartd the midle of the its length. this description suck so here is a pic. i beleive the z1 does have some type of equlizer. Ill check in a little bit an post. im sure its under the a/v settings.

I am not sure, but logically it shouldnt show the Update thing, however it might, maybe someone who has just the xm tuner without navtrafic can say something.
