  1. Hold all four buttons for at least 10 seconds and then release the reset button only while still holding down the other three (eject, menu and map). Wait 5 to 10 seconds further and then release just the eject button. See if that works for you. I was having the same problem as you and I believe the above helped me.
  2. I am thinking I need to do this to my F900BT that I picked up used because it is unresponsive after the first button click of the interface. In the pinned topic at the top of this Problems/Troubleshooting area, one of the posts in the last couple of days points to 4shared.com and the required files -- but there are 8 versions of these files on there, and I don't know which one to use for my US/Canada F900BT. Any ideas? - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn0006a7.img - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn001481.img - SDMLC_NN746_EW_sn00aa0f.img - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn00aa0f.img - SDMLC_NN746_UC_sn00aa0f.img (I'm assuming this
  3. I was looking for this file too and went to your link, but which files are required for which device? These are the ones pulled from the four archives on 4shared.com... - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn0006a7.img - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn001481.img - SDMLC_NN746_EW_sn00aa0f.img - SDMLC_NN746_RE_sn00aa0f.img - SDMLC_NN746_UC_sn00aa0f.img (I'm assuming this one is for US/Canada devices) - SDMLC_NN749_EW_sn000617.img - SDMLC_NN749_RW_sn000617.img - SDMLC_NN749_UC_sn000617.img (I'm assuming this one is for US/Canada devices) I don't want to just start trying these with the shot-gun approach... I'v
  4. It's still on the bench and I've grounded the parking brake wire, err... connected to the (-) on the battery along with the black ground wire and the yellow/black wire which was moved in the connector as per the hardware bypass. The red and yellow wires are connected to the (+) on the battery. At this point in the 'recovery' of this unit, if it was only the parking brake wire that was the problem, I should be able to access and click through most things in the interface, but it's only allowing me a single button press on the interface, it moves to the next correct screen and then it appear
  5. Okay, this used F900BT I picked up that has had problems since I bought it, is now upgraded to firmware v3.0201 and WinCE has been upgraded using the files and info from this topic. I've done the WinCE upgrade and I've done the copy of updates maps and files by copying the above referenced files to the "My Flash Drive" folder on the unit. Now when it boots up the previous owners startup screen no longer displays and the standard Pioneer splash screen and copyright dates show. It then switches to what looks like a new unit setting screen – it asks me to choose a language, which I do (
  6. Okay, I now have this F900BT I picked up used backed up and I'm trying to upgrade WinCE. I get to around Step 6 in the 3.0 install guide where the unit is reading the two upgrade files and then the unit goes black – the screen and all button lights go off but the fan continues to run. A couple of posters have experienced the same problem in this thread, but they've not received any answers to their problems. I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and how it was resolved. Thanks.
  7. I bought a used F900BT running the v2 that is having the reboot issue, so I'm trying to upgrade to v3. I've tried a couple of versions of Testmode but I'm having problems. In both versions I have a hard time opening My Devices; I'm either selecting the My Devices or the icon below it and it's resulting in an identical dimmer "ghost" icon that follows my screen taps, or I'm getting a drag-like selection box that I can't get rid of. I assumed this had something to do with the calibration of the screen, so I tried to calibrate it with Start > Settings > Control Panels > Stylus. With
  8. Thanks VBLUE42. As I said in my update my light-green wire had been pulled from the harness, so I couldn't connect it and ground it last night. I have the wire but there's no terminal on the end of it. I'll check the plug tonight to see if the terminal is still in there and if not I'll try to jam the wire in to get a decent connection for ground. I also thought that the yellow/black modification made the PB wire ground unnecessary? Obviously not. Thanks again.
  9. My install manual says a lot of things. I tested my first F900BT last year the same way and it worked fine. Am I missing something on my "test" setup that you are aware of and I'm overlooking?
  10. I bought a used F900BT to put in our second car and I hooked it up to a 12V car battery to test it out and the Nav and Systems Settings buttons are grayed out on the Settings screen. All I've hooked up to test are the yellow, red and black wires from the power harness, along with one speaker to test sound. I also plugged in the GPS antenna wire. I guess I need to do the bypass to access these settings, is that correct? Update: Just moved the yellow/black mute wire and grounds it (-) on the battery and still no go on the Nav or System Settings buttons. The green wire (pb) has also been pull
  11. I installed an X910BT in our car about 8 months ago and have been generally happy with it. We just bought a second car that I will be using primarily for commuting to a new job and I'm not sure I can live without the iPod, Bluetooth and nav functionality of the 910, but I can't justify the price of installing another one in this car. From what I've read on this site and others, I don't think I would be happy with the U310, so I'm now leaning towards a used or refurbished F700, F90 or X710. So I'm asking for confirmation on my thinking and other recommendations on comparably priced units wi
  12. I've actually done a little research on backup cams and went with and found an older discontinued Panasonic CCD cam on eBay: http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Audio-C ... B000RIX0JI From what I've read, the cheaper CMOS cameras will experience sensor deterioration if there is a constant voltage applied to them, this does not apply to CCD cameras. Therefore the wiring instructions posted by "kruff10" are probably preferable when installing a CMOS camera and certainly not "half-assed".
  13. Use the 1 to 8 wires on the Power Supply cable. The wires on the AV cable are unamplified and would only be used when connecting your X910 to an amplifier.
  14. I bought and installed a Panasonic CY-RC50KU backup camera on our Mazda5 and have been quite happy with the quality and performance. It's the least expensive "name-brand" CCD camera I could find. Not cheap at $100 + shipping on eBay, but it's certainly better than the Pioneer units!
