Ever thought it could have been the 120GB Western Digital drive you imaged onto . . .? Don't belive anyone runnin the Z2 image is using a WD Drive Its definitely the drive, but why?? What's causing it?? The WD is indestructible and uses very little power.... It wasn't the vibration as I was sitting in a parking lot just idling when it shut down and wasn't the temp...And since it ran for a day first...The drive was 100% on 2 different scan progs......

OK... the drive quit.... Wasn't the heat as its only been in the 60's here.. Worked fine for about 4 hours and won't boot at all. put it back on the PC and its all still there but just hangs at the logo... HMMMMMM?????? Nothing wrong with the drive as a quick drive-check revealed a 100% Drive.... So.... Re-Imaged the drive using the same image... popped it back in.. Booted up perfect.... Don't know.... Drive Check built into the Avic???? Can't figure out why a simple re-image would allow it to work... Perhaps the Avic is writing a "do not accept" file on the drive???

OK.. havent posted in like.. well a year... But I had some time and wanted to share some info for all... I had the z2 image I download a while ago and did nothing with. I had an old Western Digital 120GB external USB drive... Model # WD1200 Didn't have a use for it... so I gave it a shot.. Downloaded Acronis disk, plugged the drive into the usb port and restored the Z2 image into it. Took apart the drive (easy) and unplugged the IDE/USB converter...Wha La! Drive.... Put it in my Z1.. went through 2 upgrading screens and has been working great. Didn't have to unlock anything, hav

OLD NEWS: bluetooth update for z1 changes the bypass
Z1Envoy replied to epyon02's topic in Hacks/Mods
You need to read the forums... There is an update for the z1 both before the update and after. It is 2 seperate methods... Please read and understand before you post. -
Hey... Just something interesting I saw in the service manual... Don't have the z2 yet, but trying to help out! (Attention) • Test mode starting procedure ACC ON while pressing the BAND and ESC keys together. • Test mode stopping procedure ACC and Backup OFF.

1st, I would say one of your more pressing issues is the fact that you have 3 speaker brands in your vehicle. You will never be able to get a matched sound from different manufactures. On the note of the speakers, do you have them set up on an x-over? You can always put a passive x-over so you can fine adjust the frequencies going to the rears...

trying to figure out what this issue could be, help?

On the Z1, the reverse camera is the brown rca plug. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/p ... Manual.pdf If you have it plugged into the yellow, you should be able to turn on the aux. video and see the image. -
You can get it directly from pioneer... Dont know how the price compares to e-bay or aftermarket shops. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/mod ... =AVIC%2DN1 Hope this helps

836 total parts for the n1... One of them should be the part!!! You may need the part number or a lot of patience going through the listing http://www.partstore.com/ModelDetail.as ... =1&exact=1

You can add a switch to that wire if you would like. The remote lead puts a +12 volt when power is turned on the Headunit. You could put a switch in to cut that power thus turning off the amp. Make sure the switch is isolated from any grounding. I am guessing this is for the subs....

Is it safe to draw power from my illumination wire?
Z1Envoy replied to aznsmartass24's topic in Off-Topic
Here is an option for you: I installed a similar setup in a car I had a while ago. I went about it a little different though. I put a pressure switch on the glove box that gave power to the light whenever I opened it regardless if lights were on or not. Came in very handy!! A little more work, but not to hard to do... You can get the switch at Radio Shack ... -
