  1. Have been very pleased with nushield. Cuts glare and also depolarizes so polarized sunglasses don't limit visibility. http://www.nushield.com/manufacturer_detail.php?apptypeid=GPS+Navigation&manufacturerid=Pioneer++
  2. Some new info on this. Happening more frequently now. When starting car have no sound and no touchscreen response. Only hard button that wold is mode. After about 10 minutes everything starts to work properly. Hard to believe it is really a hardware issue (screen works perfectly when working at all). Are any known software issues with the firmware upgrades (was a 110 but upgraded to 120 software with all updates applied (003 rev) Thanks Bruce
  3. I have a Z110BT that has been firmware upgraded to the 120bt software (latest update 2.003). It has been intermittently not responding to any touchscreen presses. Can't even press "OK" on the nav startup. Restarting the car usually (but not always) fixes it. Does this sound like hardware or software problem? Should I try to reupdate firmware? Thanks Bruce
  4. Z110BT (updated with 2010 software). I typically connect the Iphone just to charge it but would prefer if it did not automatically change the music source to Ipod mode and start playing. Can this be disabled? Thanks Bruce
  5. Thanks for that suggestion. It worked! Just launched Pandoralink before connecting the cable. Thanks Bruce
  6. Same problem here. I can get it working on the 3G and 3GS running IOS3.x Now that I have upgraded the 3GS to IOS4 it does not work at all. 2 steps forward, 1 step back. Bruce
  7. You CAN stream youtube or other ipod/phone video to the HU when connected by the ipod cable or by generic AVout cable connected to an AV input. Bruce
  8. See if there is a settings option on the video screen. I have seen this type of "repeat" behavior in some of the music modes so maybe it behaves the same in video mode. Look for a "shuffle" or "repeat" setting. Bruce
  9. I'm not certain that this is your issue but.... Voice control is only available on certain screens [i think this is a weakness and I don't really understand why they are limiting it]. It is available when the map, music and phone screens are visible but voice control is not available from the home screen, shortcuts screen and I believe settings also. Unless you have disabled the icons, voice is available when there is a "V" icon on the right side of the screen. It may also be unavailable during bootup and a few minutes after. Hope that helps. Bruce
  10. I can echo that. I just installed in a 2010 Toyota Venza using the latest PAC SWI-PS. Be certain to get the 1.6.8 software version on the PAC. We started with 1.6.7 and could not get the phone/voice functions to work. 1.6.8 works perfectly for all steering wheel functions. Bruce
  11. Spoke with Pioneer support about this yesterday. They are aware of the problem and agree that it is a software "bug". The guy said they are actively working on a fix and we should expect a new firmware update in several weeks. I'll beleive it when I see it, but there is hope. Bruce
  12. Done. I wrote pioneer. We'll see if they are listening. Bruce
  13. OK. I'll stop trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I certainly hope this can be addressed in an update since these functions really should be independent. Thanks! Bruce
  14. Thanks for the tips. I have tried to change the settings as suggested but If I "mute" guidance (pressing the "speaker" icon) it also mutes VR. I changed the voice language to and from TTS (as suggested) but no change. Has anyone actually tried and succeeded in keeping VR responses ON and Nav guidance OFF? Thanks! Bruce
  15. Is there a way to turn off the voice guidance in the Nav system but leave the necessary voice recognition system prompts? It seems to me that they are in the same setting which makes this rather unsatisfactory. Thanks Bruce
