  1. Turned out the new hd module fixed it. It's working again. Although it took pioneer a little over a month to send a new one. Pretty crapy service considering they don't even repair the hd modules, they just send a new one.It sucks they still haven't fixed it so the station id shows up in the presets with the hd radio module.
  2. I installed my x910bt along with the gex-p20hd hd radio module back in January, everything has been fine till now. Today I'm driving down the road listening to the radio and then all at once no sound, just spiking static noises. Switched to ipod ok, cd's ok, dvd's ok. I checked the antenna connection and power plug on the hd radio unit has power. I'm thinking the hd radio module just took a crap. Anybody else see this happen ?
  3. In case anybody else is interested it works fine. Got the new verizon motorloa droid and got it to connect to the radio via bluetooth and transfer the contacts with no problems.Calling out and receiving calls seem to working fine.
  4. I've had very poor results any cables of that type from ebay. Be it phone cables or ipod cables. Unless the seller has a good reputation and states that it is an official cable I tend to stay away from them. It's usually tossing money out the window. I bought a micro usb cable for my phone there once and the cable would get so hot you could barely touch it while it was charging the phone.
  5. Anybody use this combo yet,I'm due for an upgrade and seriously considering this phone ? Just curious if anyone has had issues with the bluetooth with this phone like some have had with the Iphone. Thanks
  6. You definately nailed it. I went out about 7pm and sure enough it switched over to night map mode. Not sure I understand why they would use 2 different triggers for screen brightness and the map mode switching, guess I don't see the big picture. Anyway thanks for the good info, looks like all is working normally.
  7. Thanks a lot for the info,as usual the poeple using the units know more about it than the manufacturer. I was on the phone with pioneer tech support this morning and he insisted that it was the ill wire that triggered the switch between night and day map mode. Do you know what the magic time is when the switch occurs ?
  8. anybody else having issues with the map mode day/night automatic switching. I've got the avic-x910bt hooked up through a gmos-04 adapter on my 06 chevy 2500hd. I tried hooking the ill wire up to the orange, and then the orange/white wire on the gmos, then ran it right to a lighting wire on some aftermartket gauges. I can see the screen brightness change when the lights come on but the map never changes from day to night mode when set to automatic in the settings. I can change it manually ok.
  9. Finally got my avic-x910bt and hd tuner all hooked up and working tonight. Took me a while to figure out you can't listen to am by selecting am on the source screen. You need to select hd radio ( makes sense since thats where the antenna's at now) and then change the band to am on the hd tuner. Haven't tried playing with the presets but I imagine I'll have the same results everyone else seems to be having.
  10. Thanks for the clarification. Do you have any idea where I can get a pin to fit in the empty slot for the bypass or a p/n for it.
  11. I'm going to be installing a pioneer avic-x910bt in my 06 silverado ( bose system). I purchased the metra gmos-04 adapter to interface the radio with the bose system. As I understand the bypass, you move the mute wire on the radio harness and then ground it and the parking brake lead to ground, correct ? My confusion is this, the metra adapter also has a mute wire from the truck side of the harness(onstar I suspect). So do I just cap that wire now and assume the mute will not work with onstar now, which isn't a big deal as I don't use onstar anyway. Or would a better option be to just install anot
  12. Thanks, that makes sense. I understand where you're going in regards to the original question.
  13. I think you have me confused with the original poster. I have not installed mine yet. You eluded to the sequence of powering the unit on and doing the bypass as the reason he is locked out. I'm only trying to avoid the same mistake if thats the reason. So again, does it matter ?
  14. does that matter ? I just purchased an x910bt and I'm planning on doing the bypass. Should I do it before or after powering on the unit the first time and why ?
  15. What is the blank preset issue ? I just ordered a x910 and was planning on using the gex-p20d also.
