  1. if you want the look of the first kit, get the metra. you will have to get the mounting sleeve/trim ring from pioneer tho as the new units dont ship with that.
  2. metra makes one.99-9101 or 99-9102 cant remember but its one of those.

    Install help

just get out a meter and test for it.. its 3 wires..
  4. DKP = drivers kick panel. look for the wire running from that area to he rear of the car (to the tail lights). worst case, you can pull the tail light and catch it right at the bulb but you should find it in either kick.
  5. its super easy to get wiring around the battery pack. if you remove the lower seat cushion and unbolt the passenger side of the seat back you can easily pass wiring through to the trunk. then just continue it up to the trunk lid if that is where you are placing your camera. you would have to try real hard to damage the battery pack imo.
  6. price sounds reasonable. if you came into my shop you would pay $125 for the z1 and $50 for the ipod (i dont charge for the bluetooth install if you do it at the same time). plus parts/kits. fun part is the backup cam. last hybrid i did got a lipstick cam flushed into the trunk lid above the liscense plate. wasnt fun but it worked wonderfully. $200 to install that iirc. sooooo price sounds about right but honestly care more about the installer doing the work than the amount you're being charged.
  7. it looks like you have all your bases covered. If you ever want to add another input via ipbus you can catch it at the xm or ipod adaptor so no need to pull the deck. Usually, we (my shop) drop all addt cable to the floor board in case the customer comes back later. in your case, the only thing I dont see you using is the av inputs. i would drop a pair and tie them off under the dash or kick panel area in case you ever want to add a game system or video ipor etc.
  8. whether that price is too high or too low is completely up to you and how comfortable you feel with the shop doing the work imo. Most guys on here will tell you to do it yourself and save all your money. Some shops will do it all for $50. Some shops will charge a grand to do it. The difference lies in the install. I cant tell you how many times I have taken apart installs and fell out of my chair at what ive seen. I ve had good customers of mine end up at the shop up the street for whatever reason getting work done just to come back to get it fixed. guess who is paying twice now for the i
  9. You could easily drop a rca for the back up cam input along with a twisted pair of ignition and ground wire and run that to the back til you get the cam. We do it on every indash video install we do just in case they come back that way we dont have to tear the dash apart. now you would have to pull the deck to plug in the steering wheel input unless you get creative with where you place the plug input. kevin tweeter
