Better X910BT X930BT and X940BT Volume Knobs
highaltitude replied to thomashohl's topic in Hacks/Mods
I ordered a black knurled knob on Saturday! Haven't gotten any confirmation yet so I hope it went through ok. Excited for the new knob. I just upgraded my deck from an f700bt to a x930bt. The knobs look good in the pics so far! That stock knob is small and smooth, very hard to grab when driving.- 163 replies

The 2010.6 maps from the updates that I have on my F700Bt and are talked about in the F700BT forum do in fact work on the S2 if you have it modded with Igo8. Worked excellent today on a 250 mile round trip drive. I even used the POI from the 2010.6 as well.

FYI, it appears that the same maps that I have for my F700BT are also working in my S2. They are Tele-Atlas 2010.6 maps and POI. I have my S2 running IGO8. -
Anyone can chime in when they know the answer...LOL

IS this any different or better than the 3.0 update alot of people have done like 6 months ago from the X series recievers? I've been running 3.0 and 2009.6 maps for over 6 months now. Is this different or better?
-
IS this 3.0 update any different than the one for the "X" avics? I've been running the 3.0 on my F700BT for 4-5 months now or more. I also have 2009.6 maps. Are these newer maps?
-
no I never checked there. Would they show up on screen during the day? I did end up fixing my issue by reinstalling my whole Flashdisc since I got no anwser. Then I added the buttons I wanted in there and all is good now. Thanks for the FYI on the 'night folders'.

skip warning and nag for AVIC F900BT 4.001000 update
highaltitude replied to carver's topic in Hacks/Mods
Are people still experiencing errors with this mod? I want to install it but am unsure about the issues that can result from it. Will this also get rid of the navi warning that pops up when doing like 80 on the highway? -
Well I fixed it on my own since I got no response. I basically just overwrote the whole Flask Disk to my stock v.3 backup and then started again with this mod and then added the correct buttons I wanted. Works great now.
-
Yeah I know. That is what I ended up doing. My garage is literally about 75 yards of more from the house so its a pain to run back and forth especially for 2 silly bmp's. Its cool. As it turns out it didn't work anyhow. The icons for the mute button are stuck in there once you add them so I haven't been able to change them, even though I have overwritten the data.zip a couple times, it still finds the original ones for some reason.
-
Ok, so I got all this to work, but now I have a couple cooler buttons I want to use. I have added them in and copied over the data.zip but the avic is still using the first ones I added. How do I get the new ones to work? do I have to delete a user profile file or something?
-
ok thanks, all I really want to do at this point is to add 2 new buttons I made for the Navi Voice Guidance MUTE mod. I just want to put the two new BMP's into the correct folder and overwrite the others. Basically copy and paste, its just that you can't see the folder tree within the data.zip
-
I have searched already but I could not find anything that said how to get into the data.zip file while its in the AVIC. How can you edit it or copy into it while it is in the radio? All I want to do is add to the exiting file, but the location of the info I am adding goes into a certain folder in the data.zip. Do I still have to pull it off the avic and work on it on my pc? Can you add winrar to the WinCE?
-
Here ya go, a few guys have been using these for their computers they have installed in their vehicles. Should hopefully work great on a modded AVIC if you have Blue Tooth--> http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards ... vices/3848 The carputers I have read about mount a mini desktop pc under the seat all wired etc and then run to an lcd screen mounted in place of the radio. SOunds like you got it working on the avic though. Very cool.
-
yeah that sounds like a good deal. It does all the same as the 900's it just doesn't play DVD's. I beleive you can ply movies from an Ipod though.

Thanks Chuck, I appreciate it. I'm used to other sites where dead links and wrong links get changed or deleted. -

Can someone please confirm which file is the correct one to download! There are multiple links on the first page -
Dude, I've been looking for weeks already. There is a new ebay listing with them for about 45, but still steep. I haven't bought one yet either.
