  1. I have an N3, not a D3, so I would not be able to help you there. Try this though- unplug the Data out cable, reset the XM unit, rehook it up, have them resend the signal. After about 20 minutes, it should work
  2. Well, I reset the head unit after I took off the face, reset the XM unit, had the signal resent and it works fine now. I am curious though, what do the "Browse" and "favorites" buttons do? They are greyed out and I never noticed if they were before?
  3. I just tried resetting the head unit, and it seems to work. I am little concerned though cause it takes a while to start up and the address search is not working 100 percent. I am lost.
  4. I did talk to XM. They said everything was fine, and they would need to resend the signal, but I needed to keep the car on for 20-30 minutes to have it work. I guess this is accurate? I am gonna try it when I need to drive for that long. I was in my driveway and did not think I had 30 minutes to spare.
  5. Hey guys- I have XM NavTraffic with my Avic N-3. Friday night, it was working perfect (actually got me around a huge accident). I went up to New York yesterday and it stopped working. The button on the bottom right of the screen is gone where you can push to get traffic updates. It is weird. Nothing changed connection wise. My normal XM works, as far as the radio goes (Ron and Fez were still very funny). Anyone know why this might have happened and what I can do to fix it? The status says "OK" and the signal strength is "Very Strong". Again, nothing changed connection wise or anyt
  6. check with ebay user RCH72. just type in "N3 upgrade" in the search. He has a number you can call and ask him about that stuff and probably get you a good deal. good luck
  7. that is not bad then. If you can get that stuff and still be under 650, that is a good deal.
  8. I am pretty sure number 1 will not work, but that is based on never trying it. Someone else might be able to help with that. Number 2, while using the navigation, any AV source, including the iPod will work. I use my iPod, XM as well, and it still plays when I enter, view, scroll, whatever, any aspect with navigation. It mutes when the lady gives you directions though, which is good. Hope that helps.
  9. Ok, just spent 2 hours with my car guy. Found out that my Xterra S model does not have a speed sensor wire. My car has no cruise control or radio volume adjustment when I increase or decrease the speed. Does anyone have a solution? We went through the car forever looking, and everywhere it should be, it isnt. Is there an aftermarket peice to get a speed pulse for the N3? HELP!! please!
  10. very cool. I just talked to my guy and he said he would charge me 20 bucks for the labor. Not bad, imo. Thanks everyone for the help.
  11. Thanks so much Itchy. Nice name. Now, do you think I can take this to a stereo installer and have them connect those two wires?
  12. I sent a message to PaisanNYC, so please do not be offended. Everyone in the past was very helpful before when I first got my N3. I am having some problems with my GPS. From what I searched, I am assuming the Speed Sensor wire should be connected. It is bypassed. I attached part of what I wrote. If anyone can help, I thank you in advance greatly. Thanks: I have my N3 bypassed by grounding the wire to the metal near my parking brake. The bypass works fine as far as plugging navigation on the go, and whatever other possible features can happen. I am finding my location on the map howe
