  1. That's $1000 extra, besides I don't need traditional disc drive all my media on hard drive or memory. SPH-DA110 would have been my perfect choice if it only has HD-radio tuner, Do they make add on for them thou?
  2. please delete my post wrong section
  3. Any one knows if there is any plans for Pioneer to release an AppRadio model with digital FM aka HD Radio, I know there is a lot of free apps that offer free music streaming and live radios, But FM is still usefull when you don't want to eat up your data cap. The audio quality of digital FM is near identical to the file played at the radio station.
  4. I just use google, ebay, amazon, monoprice.......etc once I know what I'm looking for, for example if you were looking for a cable that you don't know the name and you were directed to here A quick search for "short mini USB cable" you can get a cable that performs exactly the same for less than a buck here
  5. Winamp in the car ???? really?? ugly as hell, where is the album art work, where is the preset playlists, AppRadio player way better, PC is a thing of the past.
  6. Usualy people who buy cables for tens of dollars are the ones that don't understand the functions of diffrent cables or how they work or what signals they carry, They just go by the manifacturer part #'s, Most of the cables are available at online auctions for few bucks if you already know what you need for your setup.
  7. Never mind, I didn't see the 3.5mm plug on the back of the radio
  8. I don't see any info on how to connect the Axxess ASWC to the back of the radio, not even on the 3 manuals that pioneer offer on their website, Anyone connected this setup can you tel me where to connect the CAN wires on the back of the appradio ? From ASWC manual: "For all other radios, plug in the male 3.5 mm connector of the ASWC into the back of the aftermarket radio, designated for an external SWC control interface. If in doubt where the 3.5 mm connector ofthe ASWC goes please refer to the aftermarket radio manual"
  9. I believe all what Apple asking from dash nav manifacturers is to allow them access to the touch screen digitizer controls so you would send the touch commands throu either a special pin in the phone connector or bluetooth/wifi channel, offcourse the video out from iphone will always be via dock HDMI connector as it has been but could be done on WIFI channels too, The idea of controling iDevice from another touch screen is not new it has been done years back see here and here and the latest is here. Offcourse Apple want to do it in a more manageable way.
  10. I can go arround the GPS problem by using tomtom, being using it on my iphone without a problem, however there is more to what you've mentioned, no radio tuner for poeple (like me with t-mobile) who don't want to pay for data plan to stream online radio or pandora, The system is too expensive, no steering wheel control, no external GPS antenna.
  11. Oh I see, so it's an external remote control not the original steering control buttons, it's a cool toy.
  12. You made me laugh and yes you're right, how did you set up the steering wheel control though.
  13. I'm aware of that too, I wish apple releases a double DIN size tablet with an optional dock that holds the tablet and slides into the DIN cavity and takes ipod hard drives and connects to an external GPS antenna throu the dock connector, but I dought that apple will put an internal HD radio in the tablet and allow steering wheel control option.
  14. Not so many choices out there, but look for units that use Tomtom navigation the most stable software that I've ever heard of, I'm in the market too since the last 4 years I still havn't found my dream navigation system the one that has dettachable full 7" touch screen, HD radio, Good navigation system, mp3/flac music player from external card with full artist/album/genre selection rather than using ipod interface, and I don't need DVD or CD player never used them in my car anyways.
