  1. Hey Ryar, Any idea how I can get Primo to auto start with the Radio rather than going through al the Avic screens?

    Sure, tap avicnet, then settings.  From there I think you have to go to program settings.  Chose Primo, and from there you will have an option for it to auto-start.

    I have mine set up so all I need to do is hold down the map button for a few seconds and Primo will start.  I will upload my flash disk from my unit sometime since I have a few more tweaks then the latest upload here, but I have been pretty busy so I don't know when I will have time.

  2. the dongles shouldnt be an issue, as i have about 15 of them..

    however i do not see how you can actually pair anything besides the phone via the phone menu

    any tips would be great

    Go to the control panel and there you will see bluetooth.  I think the control panel is accessible via the utilities menu.  I had paired things with my avic but it didn't seem to remember them and I had to manually connect each time.  The usb obdii reader would be a better option although obviously you would have to hide the wires and whatnot.

  3. Thanks for the reply ryar.  I checked out the "button" area in the primo folder and everything seems to be correct as far as mapping to the primo.exe.  Got me stumped.....I don't know if it helps, but when I attempt to run primo and hit the map spot on the AV SD page it highlights, but nothing happens there either.  I really like Chuck's mod, but do you think I would have better luck with primo if I went with AvicNet?

    Maybe try doing a fresh install, Chucks mod worked out of the box for me.

  4. Say ryar, I know this is the wrong thread for this, but I am running Chuck88's latest mod with Primo 2.0 and when I launch Primo, it changes to the main menu screen with the Primo icons, but when I click on them or , say the map button nothing happens...I know that's not a lot of info, but any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Redeye

    I don't specifically recall how Chuck set up his Primo, however I believe the stock igo process is killed which includes button control which would be why your MAP button is non-responsive.  Tapping the Primo icon on the main menu should allow you to access Primo.  I'm not sure why it isn't working, maybe try looking for a program called "button" in the primo folder and make sure it is mapped to where the primo.exe actually is.  The button file will have an exe, an image and also a config file all with the same name but different extension.  Make changes in the config file.

  5. i have avic net running, but cannot figure out how to get HOBDrive to load my BT odb2 reader.

    i am not sure where to select/connect it....i go into the setting screen but there is not option for BT dongle.

    do i have to configure an extra port for it? how do i get the f900 to connect./ pair w/ the BT OBD2 reader?

    any help?

    I had BT obd working at one point, however a compatable usb BT dongle.  It would be easiest to get a usb to obdii elm327.  The drivers will self load and you will never have to worry about pairing it each time.

  6. Hi Tomytomy,

    Is your unit a US f500bt? If so, the file you need is here (found in post #3 of thisthread) . The directions are below as per hiepp (post 381 of this thread). I remember updating my f500bt was a pain since there where conflicting files and directions on numerous threads here, however I believe following the above steps was how I was finally able to update.

    hieppo said:

    OK after some digging around in all these threads with weird headings, I was able to find the service combination for F500BT unit.

    I found it in this thread. http://avic411.com/f...tart=60#p206891.

    MAP, MAP, MENU, ENTER (Press down on the joystick), MENU then ENTER.

    Here is the other helpful item from that thread. You can only use the RESET button in this service menu.

    So to move from option to option, you press RESET quickly one by one. To select, you hold down RESET for 1/2 second or so.

    When it ask for you to reset, hold both RESET and POWER for a few seconds until it reset.

    I was able to flash the new WinCE and copy over the My Flash Disk from OP. Everything seems to be working so far.

    Good luck.

    Update!!

    Now that I had a chance to fully tested, there is no guidance voice on the F500BT like the two previous F500BT users posted on this thread. I noticed something was weird when the sound volume is really low.

    I guess the hacked EZRIDER in this rar file is not fully compatible with F500BT. Guess back to the drawing board.

    SUCCESS!! WOWEEEE!! Everything is a success! I found the issue and fix the audio issue.

    Please following this instruction for the F500BT model. I was very successful.

    You need only a single SD card, at least 2GB in size. Copy the entire contents of the RAR file except for the WINCEIMG.BIN and WINCEIMG.CKS to the root of SD card. For the two WINCE*.* files, I had to use the one I download from this link. http://www.rapidshare.ru/1206567

    The one that came with the FX3.1 would not allow me to boot after I flash WinCE>

    You will need to go to the folder APL2\iGo\ and delete the current sys.txt and rename sys_749UC.txt to sys.txt.

    You can delete the other sys_*****.txt files and any maps that you may not use. You may need to do this because the F500BT may not the capacity for all the new maps.

    1. Insert SD card (minimum 2GB) with testmode into AVIC and turn it on.

    2. Backup My Flash Disk by copying

    3. When the pioneer logo comes up, press and hold the power and reset buttons at the same time until the blue service screen comes up then release power and reset buttons. (you should see Press reset again to reset but don't press reset yet)

    4. Press in this order MAP, MAP, MENU, ENTER (down on joystick), MENU then ENTER. (each button press will show an asterisk at the bottom center of the screen). If the correct combination is pressed, then a menu with options pops up.

    5. Select Wince Upgrade with Format (SD)

    6. At the bottom center will first display the status of reading in the file. It then will clear the message and will show the status of writing the file. Then it will do a quick test. Wait until it says restart in the bottom center. Reset the unit and leave the SD card in (remember to reset you have to press and hold both power and reset buttons.)

    7. You should be greeted with testmode (It will look very similar to normal windows). Open Explorer and copy the contents of the "My Flash Drive" Folder from the SD card to the "My Flash Drive" that is located on the unit. Overwrite everything. (It will the copying will take 140min but will only take about 20)

    8. On the desktop should be an icon to RESTART the unit. Double click on that to restart, make sure you take out the SD card so normal boot process happens.

    8. Select your language and voice options.

    9. Enjoy FX3.1 :)

    A special bonus, I was able to download the latest 2010 maps from here http://gpsundergroun...ll-here./page25 into the F500BT without any issue. You will need to delete the older maps and just copy the MAPS, POI and BUILDINGS to the respected folder under /APL2/iGO/CONTENT

    Really GOOD Luck now and enjoy to those able to succeed.

  7. Rearview and bluetooth options in Primo 3.0? The latest release of Primo is 2.0. The stock rear view camera works, but the bluetooth option within Primo does not work, the stock software will still control it.

    Don't worry about the ports, when avicnet properly boots it will start a port splitter which will allow multiple programs to use the gps. You don't need avicnet 2.0 before installing 2.1, it is stand-alone.

    Despite your unit stating wince 5.0 I would recommend updating as per the directions. I had the issue of a freeze up on boot before updating as per the directions, I'm sure this is the issue preventing you from booting properly.

  8. Hi Tomtomy,

    Hmm, there could be a few things which are causing your unit to hang up during startup. Did you do the update in step #2? Also, make sure you don't flash the update for the f900bt since it will cause issues.

    2) Ensure you are running Windows CE version 5.0 or above. You can check this by booting into testmde, going to the control panel and tapping on system. It will tell you your CE version there. If you need to upgrade, the f500bt is here

    I have an f500bt which I use as a test unit and it boots up without issue so I can vouch that it is compatible. Other than the step above all I did was delete "my flash disk" and then copy the one from the avicnet. Make sure to copy some maps into the my flash disk/apl2/igo/content/maps folder, as well as pios and whatnot which are all also within the content folder. Sometimes a bad SD card will corrupt files, try copying onto another and give it another shot.

  9. HI Matyana,

    I was able to emulate your problem and can verify that if I choose a device ending with EW in the sys.txt then my bluetooth does not work. When I go to the bluetooth software update option it reads "Version: not found", where as if i use a UC device it reads a proper version number. I combined the two device files with both TMC and MSN Direct present and attempted to change the comm port there but the bluetooth still would not work.

    Did bluetooth and TMC work correctly on the stock software from pioneer for your EW unit? Assuming it did, try using the device file(s) from it's data.zip and perhaps even the sys.txt. If that does not work take a look at Bagua's avicnet, perhaps his has bluetooth and TMC working. I'm sure if it was an issue it would be mentioned in his thread somewhere. Let us know either way if you have any luck or not.

  10. HI matyana,

    In the sys.txt when you select a device it "loads" additional settings which can be found in the data.zip via the following path: data/config/devices. There you can see pioneer746ew, pioneer749uc, ect.

    If you know that certain settings work in one and not another, combine the working settings into one and point your sys.txt in that direction. I find it easiest to unzip the data.zip, modify the files/settings, and move the altered files back into the zipped data.zip via total commander for pc. Remember to keep a backup.

    Aternately, you can try leaving the device= blank in the sys.txt and move the working TMC and bluetooth commands into the sys.txt.

    At a glance, after combining the working tmc settings from the 746ew with the 746uc and deleting the broken settings I get:

    info_names="PIONEER746UC"

    [msnd]

    msnd.start=1

    msnd.version=2

    fw_upgrade.enabled=1

    fw_upgrade.image_path="\Storage Card\msnd.firmware.z"

    comm.port=4

    comm.thread_priority="normal"

    comm.dt_read_write_tmout=0.1

    comm.send_frame_retry_limit=3

    comm.dt_send_tmout=1.0

    comm.dt_alive_tmout=5.0

    cache.dt_save_all=900.0

    [sound]

    device_id=1

    use_os_volume=1

    use_method=5

    method5_maxvolume=40349

    dynamic_volume_type=0

    [tmc]

    source="gns"

    port="COM,4"

    new_event_recalc_timeout=5

    changed_event_recalc_timeout=15

    enable_flow_lines=0

    enable_flow_icons=0

    If after combining the two if your bluetooth and TMC don't work I would suggest it is an issue elsewhere and bluetooth and TMC cannot be used simultaniously in some mods. Good luck!

  11. I had experienced the same issue with the voices not working; after trying the original sys.txt from FX3.1 the voices started working. If you have a NA avic you will not have UK Philippa as an option (too bad, I am tired of listening to Samantha).

    I know what you mean regarding muting the key beeps, I am having the same issue. The most annoying is the beeping while turning the volume up or down via the steering wheel controls. It would be nice to eliminate, does anyone have any idea how?

  12. Hi matyana,

    A1) Try the freakshare link for 2.1, it looks like it is still working. 2.0 is pretty old and I haven't used it for awhile, I wasn't planning to re-up it. I guess I should remove the link.

    A2) 2.1 should work with the Euro or UK avic.

    A3) I have no idea, we don't have TMC here in Canada. To tell you the truth, I don't think I ever tried bluetooth on avicnet. Perhaps another user who has used these features can help?

  13. If your voltage is dropping to 0.3 V while starting it is unlikely a software problem. It is possible to have avicnet avoid double starting (I don't recall how offhand, sorry) however your drivers for the OBDII reader will not be loaded. If you don't use hobdrive but want Primo 2.0 you can try Chucks latest mod or Diaftia's (there are instructions on how to run Primo onhis mod in the Primo thread, and he also has a menu for runnng external programs). \

    I have also found that while the unit is booting and the car is started it will require the double start. This doesn't seem to be a voltage issue, it appears the unit doesn't like being reset while booting.

  14. Jas276 posted regarding having this issue, his solution is below. It looks like he added an aux battery and connected that to his avic. I wonder if he used a diode between his main and aux battery. There are a few other threads and posts out there regarding the issue, try searching and perhaps you can find more information.

    Posted 23 December 2011 - 07:36 AM

    My double start issue was caused by the voltage drop when I start my 4x4. I fixed it by running the main 12v wire (the yellow wire) from my aux battery (dual battery setup).

    I went 4 wheel driving the other weekend and really liked the Oziexplorer maps, very helpful :)

    The only thing I would like to change is the default igo program with the one from Diaftia's mod as it look better, but I think I read somewhere that it would be too much work to do???
