  1. Ahhhh yes. That makes sense to me now. So it will be driven by Pioneer and not some on line crack. I remember reading about those other upgrades for other head units but didn't make the connection with the 920 up to 930. I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for when it's released. Thanks guys.
  2. I guess I'll PM him on how to do it then? I'd love to be the Guinea pig for it. I haven't heard or read of anyone else doing it, have any of you guys?
  3. I just wanted to know where he got his information from. I know he's an admin here on avic411 but beyond that I don't know what qualifies him to make a statement that makes the presumption that the 920 can be programed with the 930 programing. He didn't directly say that could be done. He could have just been saying if the two could be combined you wouldn't loose your VR.... I still would like to know. The pioneer website has nothing to say about it.
  4. Will this really be an option for us 920 owners? Did they mention that at CES? Is the new 920's already preloaded with the same software as the 930? Hmmm, I'm all excited now.
  5. Dont forget you'll need an antenn adapter as well. I have a 2010 VW and needed a dual fakra adapter. I think audi uses the same adapter.
  6. This same situation could cause problems if you were to hook up an iPod and then start the car while the VR cataloging was being done. At least I think thats what screwed mine up. I had to use a different iPod to force the 920 to rewrite a new VR catalog and then back to my iPod to get VR back.
  7. O.k. After the overwhelming response I got from this thread I did some more research on avic411 and found someone with an old firmware that had the same problem as I. They changed thier ipods songs by adding and removing some causing the 920BT to have to do a full new VR scan. I tried this by adding a song and running the VR 920 again with no success on my own. After reading the post here at avic411 I deleted a few albums and added a few others. I also plugged my wifes Ipod in and let it run a VR scan. IT WORKED!! with her ipod. After I plugged mine back in, IT WORKED!!! The onl
  8. In my Volkswagen Golf I had to use a powerd antenna adapter to get the FM reception to work. It works well enough but I still don't get any AM.
  9. So I ran the firmware update and everything went as planned. The VR worked perfect as usual until I left my screen on music and allowed my phone to connect before pressing OK on the map screen. I've read the sticky and immediatly tried redoing it in the correct order, (power off in map screen, power on, hit "o.k.", VR updated, then bluetooth connected) however, I can't get the VR function back!! I really miss it! It seemps to take the same amount of time to update the VR as usual but it won't understand. The base functions like "Change Source To...", and "Cancel" still work but none of my
  10. You guys!! I bought a hack kit off of some guy on ebay.ca His web site is http://www.x-pert-s.com/servlet/StoreFront The kit came with a nice wire with a factory pin connected already, plus a switch to turn the hack off if you want to. I didn't use the switch but the pin and wire were awesome easy. All I did was leave the old pin everyone else cuts out alone and insert the new pin/wire that came with the kit in the correct place on the harness. I think you need a special set of pliers to crimp the pin to the wire if you were to try to buy the parts yourself from an electronics store.
  11. Add me to the list. I can't get a single am station. I have a VW Golf Wagon. It pisses me off because I can get regular traffic updates every 10 min. on AM but FM is a little harder to consistiently find them.
  12. Not an authorized dealer but I bought my X920BT from http://www.eclectic-mart.com/servlet/StoreFront $700 including shipping is well worth it for the 920. He was awesome at shipping up to Canada as well.
  13. Well it took a while of screwing around but I got it figured out. It seems that you have to import each individual playlist created by musicsphere into your ipod. I was just grabbing entire folders of playlists created by musicsphere and droping them into my ipod. I noticed that they amalgamated into one playlist when I did that. I thought the musicsphere did the decoding in the head unit for the sphere interface. I guess not. It must read the preface to each playlist created to find a place to put it in the sphere.
  14. Hi everyone! I've been lurking on this site for some time now and have found it to be a valuable resource for all who use Pioneer units. Bravo!! I installed my AVIC X920BT in my 2010 Volkswagen Golf and love it! All went well with the install but I seem to get Musicsphere to work properly. I have loaded it into iTunes. Created multipul playlists. Placed the Musicsphere playlist onto my iPod and when I select "Musicsphere" on my head unit it suggests I download the software.... Hmm. I thought I already did that..... Is there a different way to get the 920BT to see the Musicsphere p
