I did. now the unit keeps saying there's a map update but im on the latest. just bought the unit so for the first 45 days I have free updates. trying to figure it out in that timeframe. 2018 Q4 is the latest?

not to revive an old thread but I was having the same problem on my avic-5201nex unit and so decided to update the firmware then got an error saying "not enough storage" when trying to update maps from the avicsync. called pioneer and they said "the unit isn't designed to update maps from the phone". I don't really understand the answer given.

I have had the Avic D3 since 07. Installed it in my 03 maxima. The past few years it has scratched every CD I put in it including the navigation disc. Is there any fix? In addition, the bluetooth usually gives an error when trying to use it with my iphone 4s for a phone but works fine for BT audio.

i also noticed that now the headunit will sometimes freeze and restart the unit.

So I have had this unit since the winter of 2007. I really like the unit but in the past year it started making a rattling noise coming from the DVD drive. I ejected the disc and found it had scratches on it in a circular shape. I found the 08 east disc it originally came with online and reburned it. everything worked fine...for a while. I ejected it and it scratched in the same way. I went to reburn this dvd and took found the 09 east disc so i upgraded. again everything worked fine for months, then It did the same thing.
