  1. Slightly off topic, but this thread is a good example of some things we ought to watch out for in this forum. There's is an INCREDIBLE amount of "guessing" being foisted as informed and verified information on here. All of us are either users or moderators of this forum (which has some incredibly useful information) and it's OK if you don't know the answer to every post. It isn't necessary to post a response to EVERY question. ESPECIALLY when you don't know the actual answer. That behavior weakens the community and will eventually degrade the utility of the forum.
  2. Yes. They really are that bad. You're not getting a GPS to take you 15 miles out of your way. You got it to give you the most direct route in compliance with the priorities you've given it, e.g. fastest or shortest route. The z120, anyway, fails miserably at this, regularly taking me routes that are up to an hour out of my way. Awful. If the 2011 map upgrades aren't released soon and fix the routing problem, I think I'm gonna have to sell the old girl.
  3. But the question remains: is the 130 firmware update a full update. Anyway to confirm that?
  4. Jason: I know. The lack of knowledge in their own equip is fascinating. While you were running the upgrade, did you happen to get a tuner failure form the traffic module before your upgraded?
  5. Hi all, Just thought we'd all find interesting Pioneer's response to my question regarding a tuner error that's been popping up since I installed my traffic tuner on my z120bt this weekend. The response is first, below. I've included my original question, as submitted, for reference below that. Pioneer's response: "Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc. Unfortunately there will not be an update which will make the AVIC-Z120 support new traffic tuner. Therefore the traffic tuner will have to be removed to correct your current problem. Thank You, Gill Cus
  6. I started getting this exact message, while in XM mode, yesterday after installing the ND-TMC10 traffic tuner and GEX-P920XM XM tuner on my AVIC z120bt. I know the z120bt doesn't support the traffic tuner yet. I had the head unit out to install the P20XM after my CD-SB10 Sirius bus died, so I installed the traffic tuner in anticipation of the 120-to-130 software upgrade. The message can be cleared by pressing the ok button, but reappears about 3 minutes later. I didn't have this problem before installing the traffic tuner and XM tuner. I also have the GEX-P20HD hooked up to the z120bt.
  7. Hi all. Can anyone tell me if the replay functions (such as rewind, game alert, song alert) can be controlled form the head unit. (Also as background, I am aware the the actual radio being used would also have to have those functions, but I just want to know if the functions are controllable through the head unit.) Thanks
