  1. Hi Diaftia, First, great work on the new facelift, so many good useful features like current speed and all. It's funny they couldn't just do that from the beginning. Also, The color theme all around has better contrast and makes the screen look like it has really high res. Great work. I was wondering, Is it possible that for Canadian maps, the highway signs don't show? Same with the lane indicator? I notice one of the picture it has 2 signs that looks like the signs on highways and at the bottom, it shows you which lane to be on. I tried it on my unit while driving on some major highways an
  2. oh crap I missed that as well haha. Well if I get a 14V reading all the way to the tip of that harness, then I'm afraid I have no other alternative but to send the HU out to Pioneer for repair
  3. Thanks Scott, Since it was a brand new wiring harness I had assumed it would be fine, so thanks for pointing that out, I did remove the HU again last night and did further investigation on the connector. ALthough unfortunately, the wire was fine and didn't show any problems. I did a multimeter test directly from the black male pin (The connector that plugs directly to the HU and got a reading of around 14V. I'm still puzzled, what's the purpose of the resistor on that reverse wire on the harness if the Voltage is the same from before and after the resistor? Shouldn't the resistor control th
  4. Hi Loosewheel, thanks for your reply. Yes I meant voltage not current hehe So I was hoping it was just a defective resistor but I took the black plastic cap off and measured before and after the resistor and got the same voltage reading. Which actually left me thinking, what's the purpose of that resistor? Now I'm out of idea. It's getting a reading in reverse all the way to the HU, so if something is wrong, it's either hardware inside the HU or a software issue. I don't know what to do from there
  5. Thanks for the reply Scott, I measured the current at the HU location, or more precisely where my reverse wire is connected to the HU reverse signal (I used a male/female connector for easy removal) To test it, I've unplugged the female connector and placed the voltmeter on the end of the reverse wire and to the HU ground. When putting the car in reverse, the signal would go to 13V, and in other gears, at 0V. After your post scott, it got me thinking, what if I remove the black plastic cover on the reverse signal wire on the HU which will expose what looks lile a resistor, and then touch th
  6. Is anyone using a rear view camera with this fx3.1 image? I still can't seem to get mine to work. Only works when I manually turn it on from the av source. The reverse wire is connected to the reverse light wire and is getting around 13V power when the car is in reverse, and 0V in other gears. The camera is set to ON and Power in the settings/system settings/rear camera Anyone?
  7. Does anyone have some ideas what could go on? Also to add. I just did more testing right now. If I set the camera polarity to Ground, it only turns on when I restart the car. But also, it only stays on for about 30-40 seconds (Regardless if I have it in P,R,N,D). So basically. I turn on the car, the Pioneer start-up screen shows up for 2-4 seconds then the camera kicks in, for about 30 seconds, then a very brief (Half second) pioneer start-up screen shows up again and then the camera stops working and the unit goes into the main menu. It almost feels like theirs a program that is inte
  8. Im not sure if it works for everyone but for me, when it happens (Turn on the car and the rear camera comes on automatically ...or a black screen with the message) I usually hold the map or menu for a few seconds. it will switch to the deck brightness control, just hit the menu button again and you'll be able to see the 3 icons and from there, go to settings, system setting, rear camera, and then change the polarity to PWR or simply turn it off if you don't have a rear view cam. That should fix your problem
  9. In fact I didn't try it with the regular factory OS. If I download the OS from Pioneer from their website into my SD card and install it, will it overwrite everything or only certain component? Would Pioneer have a problem with working on it if I send it out for repairs? I know it won't be on warranty but it's only $80 to get it serviced.
  10. Change the polarity of the camera within SYSTEM or A/V settings ... Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried changing the polarity manually on the system settings, rear camera, from On-PWR to On-GRN. After I did that, everytime I turn the car on it would automatically turn on the rear view camera and it stays on, regardless on what gear I'm in. I have to do the hold map or menu button a few seconds to bounce me back into the settings or else no matter what I touch, the rear view cam screen stays on.
  11. Anyone have a rear view camera installed to their unit with this version? I've installed my unit with the camera all together and the unit wont switch automatically to rear view when I put it in reverse... I did a multimeter test on the reverse wire and I'm getting 14.XX juice when in reverse so it's getting a signal and everything is connected right, but it just wont switch. Also, I'm getting an image when I manually input the rear camera in the AV section and I get a constant rear view image when the settings is set to ON and GND on the system settings/ rear camera Can anyone conf
  12. Installed it and everything worked. But I notice that my rear view camera does not come on automatically when I shift in reverse? Does anyone else have a rear view camera installed & can confirm if theirs does or does not work? I'm curious if my problem is software or hardware related
  13. I should also add, I called Pioneer tech support, they told me to do a master reset by holding the reset button for 10 seconds. I did so and the problem is still there. I tried installing the V2.08 firmware from Pioneer but it didn't work. (Didn't auto install) I think I read somewhere that you can't do pioneer firmware once you've installed a hacked firmware...? I dunno...
  14. Hey guys, this is my first post on here. Been using the site for reference but couldn't find anything that would help me with my problem. I recently got a Avic f700bt and a boyo camera. everything works okay but the rear view cam doesn't work when I put it in reverse. I connected the yellow camera RCA yellow to the brown RCA on the deck I connected a wire from the reverse light to the reverse light signal wire on the deck (Purple and white if I remember). I connected the camera red wire to a 12V acc wire I connected the camera black wire to my main ground at the deck area When
