That wire is pretty small. You may have broken it inside the insulation when removing it or reinstalling it in the new location. That would explain the intermittent nature of your problem. If all else fails, remove it and replace it with another unused wire (like one of the output RCA connectors if you don't use them).

Hello all. I just purchased an X920BT and plan to install it later this week. I understand the function of the VSS wire for the navigation system and plan to connect it. I can't see any real purpose for the reverse wire, since I am not planning to install a rear-view camera. Does the reverse wire perform any other function, or can I save myself some time and effort and safely leave it disconnected?
