  1. i called metra to see if maybe it was miswired or if they had any bulletins on vehicles and/or head units. the technician said to check voltages on the accessory red and constant yellow wires before and after the key switch. he also said that after removing the key and if the radio stayed on, i should open the door and check the voltage again on the accessory wire in case the car had that power retention feature. my car didn't, but the power windows worked that way. lastly, he wanted to verify their harness wiring that the pins were in the correct locations. after i got home, i w
  2. i checked the voltages on the red and yellow wires before sending this post and they behave as they should. i haven't checked the blue wire but will do so. i'll call the harness mfg to double check for any problems. if i have to return the unit to amazon, how should i deal with the bypass modified power harness? also is it common for these units to be defective?
  3. in my 1999 toyota land cruiser, i'm using the metra 70-8112 harness. i did the mute pin bypass and hooked the newly positioned mute pin and the parking brake to ground. i hooked the yellow constant 12 v from the metra harness to yellow wire on the x920-bt power cord, and from the red accessory switch wire from the metra to the red wire on the power cord. i also tied the amp and antenna wires from the metra to the blu/white wire on the power cord. i tested the unit first to make sure that the unit works - and it does. the problem i'm having is that the unit powers up with t
