  1. JDuke I had similar issues trying to reimage WinCE. I found that putting only the winceimg.bin and the winceimg.cks in the root directory of the card allowed me to reimage the wince files. So delete all the other directories or folders on the card. Once you get the wince to read and write you can add the testmode folder and or the update files. I should point out that I am still having issues and am not an expert but was able to get the wince update done using this method.
  2. Okay I completely screwed up by formatting and rewriting the SDMLC partition instead of the disk 1 SDMLC. Does anyone know what is contained in this partition? It evidently has some basic system files that would include some kind of video file. I get a jumbled picture instead of a splash screen. When I start with testmode everything is normal. The reason I messed with this partition is I kept getting a custom screen. When I re-imaged with CE and formatted and re-imaged the Flash disk I would still have the custom screen. Could someone read and copy this partition? It is the 103MB partition.
  3. I hope someone can help me. I posted earlier I was using this guide viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751 I had a custom splash screen that would always load even after formating My flash disk. It would reboot. I eventually got the main menu to load but the system would not fully load and start. I used the file from this guide and reimaged the SDMLC drive. Each step went as directed without issue. I no longer have the splash screen. I now get a Pioneer default screen with map info. The problem now is after 15 minutes I do not get anything else. The SD card slot flased a couple times and it appe
  4. yes, testmode is not a problem. I tried to copy a different file and have really messed up. It acts like it did before. Splash screen then blank then reboot.
  5. Tail24 I'm glad to see you are still monitoring this thread. Great work! I hope your solution will work for me. I've been trying to revive a nofunctional AVIC F90BT I bought. I've been using this guide "Complete 3.0 Install Guide". It's gotten me partially restored. The symptoms I experience are: System displays a custom splash sreen at start up. It used to go blank but now starts to load (gives a message that the system is starting up please wait) but eventually reboots on it's own before it completes. I did both the reimage Wince (with format) and a format of the flash disk. The custom

  7. Chuck The link you suggested was one of the first I read. The problem I had was not being able to download the fx3.1 file from the pirate bay link. The torrent file seems to be on an individuals file sharing computer. My greeting is never completed and times out. I searched for other locations but was not able to negotiate a download. If the splash screen that is loaded comes from the Data folder, I don't understand why it was not deleted during the format. Is there some other place that gets protected that keeps loading this screen?
  8. Hey man, You have a software issue here. And I think that it is better for you to fix the software issue before going any further (wiring etc). The most common problem to have the AVIC rebooting is incomplete files copying to the "My Flash Disk" folder (not enough memory etc), which has been discussed many many times in this forum. Search the thread in "FX 3.1 Update" for details. Good lucks! Thanks Chuck, I did have some issues when I first attempted to copy the files to My Flash Disk. I got a message that said there is not enough space to copy all of the files. I reform
  9. I would also like to THANK all of the people contributing to this guide. I bought a nonfunctional f90bt. These files and guide have partially brought it back to life. I tried other guides and files but none worked till now. I still have some issues that I would like to work out. First, let me explain, I am replacing a U310bt that was stolen. The thief ripped out some of the wiring harness and the GPS antenna (ordered a new GPS antenna but not yet received it so not installed). I bought a basic 16 pin pioneer harness. It does not have the brake or speed sensing wire. Before applying the 3.0
