  1. why would you not want to hook it up? That makes no sense. Does that mean you can't find the wire?
  2. it will work but I highly recommend a genuine pioneer XM box so that you get the cool xm icons. Looks really classy, the sirius is kinda generic.
  3. your car should not be optical since its an 01. You need a metra 70-1784 "vw harness" just remember that the constant and ign will be backwards on the harness so just hook your red to yellow and vice versa. 40-vw10 is the ant adapter you need and speed sense should be the top pin on the same side as your ground. next you will have a small square plug with 6 wires in it. the 2 center pins are amp turn on and signal ground and the 4 surrounding wires are your hot signals. cut this plug off and solder rca's sharing same ground and hook amp turn on to you guessed it, amp turn on. mounting c
  4. they are still having trouble with the vw, new revision should be out in 2 weeks, i will be putting one in a 06 gti the second we get it and let you know how it works
  5. The new pioneer cam this year is actually better than last year, the pic is about the same but it has a new "red" cancel feature so that when you hit your brake lights everything doesnt light up red. It actually changes red into white so if anything it makes it brighter when you hit the brakes. For all the big box co's "pioneer/kenwood/alpine/etc.." pioneer looks the best. We of course have night vision cam's that look amazing but they start at about $400.
  6. the d3 does support the tv tuner and wait for the NEW bluetooth mod, dont get the ipbus one
  7. The ipod has its own plug the bluetooth has its own plug cam has an rca and a reverse wire on harness "hook camera to ign so you can watch on map Only the "6" new dvd changer will work with the tv tuner and you must put the changer inline first. Ipbus out and av out to radio and run the tv tuner into the ipbus and avin on the changer.
  8. Nope in GA, we just have the same name.
  9. its not too bad, get a metra 99-5805 its a univeral ford double din kit. simply attach the radio into the kit, pull off your dash and cut the little lip off the inside of the hole, leave about 1/8 inch on the sides for the brackets to hold on to, then you just run some SHORT screws into the side of the attached metra brackets to hold it to dash and voila your done. and for your questions on install price, my shop for instance would charge $175 for a double din nav radio and $65 to modify your dash
