  1. Doesn't seem like there's much activity here these days. In case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation in the future, I tried both purple pin 17 and yellow pin 18, and neither worked. I called the Toyota dealer and had them check the schematics--turns out that in the 2007 (non-hybrid) Highlander, the speed pulse wire is still in the E6 ECM module, but it was moved to pin 8. Still a yellow wire though.
  2. First time poster here. This is a great forum--tons of great info! ...and yes, one more thread on the VSS wire location. I'm in the process of installing an X920BT in my 2007 Highlander. From what I've found here and elsewhere on the interwebs, the VSS wire is on the E6 ECM module, the 35-pin plug that's the second to the top of the ECM, and is the yellow wire in pin 17. In my car though pin 17 is purple, while pin 18 is yellow (and yes, I've counted them many, many times to confirm). Should I tap into the yellow pin 18, or the purple pin 17?
