I work for multiple dealerships and they would rather have the stock system installed. That way they can offer an upsell to the new buyer and not have to deal with any repair issues on aftermarket equipment. They would never give you credit for what it is worth, they will just play a numbers game to let you think they are.

Do you have an LG phone ? This a a known issue with some LG phones and there is no way to turn it off. The problem is in the phone software and LG would have to issue an update with a fix for that, but they don't seem to care enough. If you don't accept PBAP access right away then AVIC cannot read your contacts and voice recognition will fail. Yes, I have the LG Venus. I can accept that there is no way to turn it off I guess. They should be called the idiot squad. I do those systems all the time and the door subs definitely work. All you need is is a Metra 70-5521 harness or equivalent (which includes a connector for the sub amps) and a double male to single female RCA Y connector. Put a 3k to 4k resistor ( i have experimented with many resistors and this range works best) in line on the blue white amp turn on wire to prevent turn on pop.

Most Fords 2003 and up (the exceptions are e few THX systems that use a data signal to turn on the amp) need a resistor on the amp turn on line to eliminate sub pop. Some info on resister size is incorrect. It should be between 3.5k and 5k. I am a ford specialist and do this all the time it works 100% every time. The reason for the resistor is the factory amp uses a 5 to 7 volt turn on signal but the Aftermarket radio outputs a 12 volt turn on signal. The resistor drops the 12 volts down to a usable voltage that won't cause a pop.

Why isn't your blue/white wire working? I think you might have something hooked up wrong. If the blue white truly doesn't work properly than the unit or wiring is defective. Do you have access to a digital meter to test the voltage on the blue white wire? It should have at least 12 to 14.5 volts DC with the engine running. Try it without being connected to the amp first, then with connected to amp. Where is turn on connected at amp? It should be connected to remote or turn on terminal. This is completely false the grounding of parking brake wire has nothing to do with short circuiting the radio. If an install is done by the book than the parking brake wire would be connected to the wire from the parking brake that goes to ground when parking brake is on. I have encountered a few newer cars that require using a relay connected to the parking brake that switches a good ground. This is because on these vehicles the parking brake wires go through a module and does not have a strong enough ground. I have installed a lot of these PAC steering wheel control interfaces and never had a problem. They work great every time. Anyone that is having a problem is not installing and or programming it properly. In the instructions it states that you can go on PAC's website and get specific instruction for your vehicle to make it easier. I will not put one in my own vehicle in the current state, even after the update there are still isssues. The basic idea of the unit is great but it needs some improvements and more so than what Pioneer is willing to admit to at this time. I am still installing these in customers vehicles and have not heard any complaints. I have the JVC KW-NX7000 installed in my Excursion with the HD Radio, Bluetooth (supports stereo streaming audio, the pioneer doesn't) , Back up camera and bypassed (just ground brake wire). I had the AVIC-F900 at first but returned it due to the problems. Let me say that JVC blows away the Pioneer, although it cost about $200.00 more once you add the Bluetooth. Boot time is less than half of the pioneer. JVC runs on Windows Automotive not Windows CE like the Pioneer. The only drawbacks I have found are very minor.
