The smaller GPS takes into consent the streets. How many lanes does it have? What is the speed limit. I get questions like these at work all day. which one is best either it be the in dash navi or portable. On a constant basis i call the manufacturers to figure how they calculate the routes, and sometime customer service has no clue. SO tech support helps out. This is an issue i have seen, but just like Misfit said "as long it gets you to your destination, why care." Thats why you got it, if you knew the short cuts why use it.

I have my ipod, my andd my sirius connected to my D3.I have been having my D3 for about 2 months or so and i have never taken out my nav disc. Yea once you have the ipod or a changer no need ever to take it out.

i have been debating about getting the bluetooth adapter for my D3, however by the looks of things i may have to get it. Since a law went into effect yesterday, where in California we are no longer allowed to drive with a phone in hand only with bluetooth or headset. Does your contacts transfer through with all the functions.

well im going to be done with it till this evening or for tomorrow...yea i should of waited but i wanted to show the progress of it. I had to keep the unit in there for the molding process, but as for the sanding down i removed it. The bottom part was the hard part, because i had to shave a lil bit off the top vents. So i made like a small lip to ensure it looked flushed. the whole process has been fun. I been able to work on it at work and at home...

1.well i would paint it brown if my truck was brown but unfortunately it silver 2. Yea im still working on it, im done filling it in i just have to sand it down. Once done im gonna throw a coat of primer on it. thanks for the comments, and uh step into a custom shop some time. that work doesnt get done in one day.

I have been trying to finish the dash for some time now. Finally that i have more time on my hands im almost done with it. I already get looks from other people as they drive past me, also other jeep owners trip out...

You may need to label a folder named PICTURES before anything. then dump pics into there. check in the manual pg. 66

I got mine thru BB by luck. i had to do a special order and got it with in 4 days. Working there has its benefits, plus i didnt really have to pay for it. Since the unit i previously had warranty all i had to do was swap for the D3. Plus the price we get is ridiculous.

i still have to post my pics of my install. i had to cut up alot for my D3 to fit in my grand cherokee. it fits and it sits nice but i need to redo the outside trim. i need sum one to clean it up soon it will be up.

Yea thanks for the info. The unit was suppose to come in on tuesday but by the looks of things its coming in tomorrow into work. Hopefully by tuesday morning i will have it running if not in the afternoon. Its gonna be funny having a double din radio in a din and half space.

SO far i have made a custom kit to fit the unit into the jeep. Just waiting for the unit to come in on Tuesday. But my main concern is this, i have been looking thru the threads doing research and planning it out and learning about the vss wiring. Rite now my cruise control does not work. It lights up but when i try to set it no use. I was able to live with that, I dont use it much but i see that for the vss to work i may need it functional. Is there a way to get it functional again or can i go another route for the vss wiring.
