  1. Hey guys. I purchased my unit May 2014 from a non-authorized pioneer dealer (yeah I know) and over the past few months I've been having a strange problem with regards to the illumination. After driving my car for about a half-hour continuously, the unit will automatically dim on its own and then after a minute or so, it would return back to normal. This would then continue for the rest of my drive. I'm thinking it's maybe overheating since it never happens on a cold start. Any thoughts?
  2. The NEX is a far better unit in all aspects. I upgraded from an AVIC x920BT to a 6000NEX. The new units respond much faster and the navigation system is way better. I would spend the extra bucks and get something that is current. It should work with any android phone 4.0 or better.
  3. The same thing happened to my 6000nex a few months back. I unplugged the car's negative battery terminal, waited a few, then reattached it. This should reset the entire unit and the error went away for me and has not come back since. If you still get the error, then unfortunally the unit is defective and must be replaced. Also make sure you have the latest firmware 1.08
  4. I would say it's not worth it if you don't plan on getting the traffic tuner. Unless, however, you really need the new map data if your current maps do not recognize the area you drive around in. Also if you have an iPhone you might find the aha radio app useful which is also included in the update...I don't have an iPhone so that feature is useless to me.
  5. Ok so I've had this map/gui upgrade for my x920bt for a couple of days now and here is my mini review. Update was easy and took roughly 20 minutes to install. You must verify your unit's product ID number along with the map's ID card on pioneer's website which will then generate a code that you must enter into the unit right before it installs the update. The bluetooth firmware upgrade is on a separate sd card and must be updated manually in the units bluetooth settings. That took about 2 minutes. After everything software-wise was updated, I disassembled my dash to install the traffic t
  6. Thats great to know! Did you install the upgrade first before installing the traffic tuner? I'm waiting for my map/gui upgrade to come in from pioneer but I already have the traffic tuner that I purchased before just sitting here. Can I install the traffic tuner and then run the map upgrade when it comes in or should I just wait?
  7. I just placed the order today for the map/gui upgrade for my x920bt along with the ND-TMC10 traffic tuner I found online for $80. Can't wait to install!
  8. Jason tried it and confirmed it works in this thread
  9. I wish I would've taken a screenshot because it seems they took it off that website. One of the main bullet points used to read "Compatibility with Pioneer ND-TMC10 traffic tuner."
  10. look what I stumbled accross the pioneer site for our X920BT units!2011 Map and GUI update it confirms compatibility with the traffic tuner but looks like it will be available in september?! =(
