  1. theres a setting for that, i believe for your exact purpose, it wont go into night mode but it will still dim. say when you need to turn on your lights for driving in the day.
  2. a trick i do is to wrap your hands around it, works everytime for me. even if the sun is shining at it.
  3. glad to see everything worked out.
  4. theres a Q & A on http://www.xmradio.com if anyone wants to read it.
  5. everything is hooked up properly. the light on the amp turns on. im 100% sure theres power. just cant for the life of me figure out why theres no sound. it should be so simple, rca output of stereo to rca input of amp, run speaker wires to components and your done. i have a subwoofer connected so i dont think the outputs are malfunctioning.
  6. ok fellas, i need some help here with this. Ive attempted to install my 2 channel amp to my two front components but arent getting any sound. i connected the rca cables to the z1's front output and thats going into my amps input, ran speaker cables to the components. NOTHING. something im missing?? ive tried to install it twice now and i cant get any sound.
  7. well when i was in Tahoe it was about -7 degrees and my avic z1 functioned fine. the vehicle was left outside as well.. just thought i would chime in with that. i second checking for loose screws.
  8. it doesnt turn or or anything? have you checked your vehicles fuses?
  9. well, ive exhausted all my possibilites... i have to send it back for service to pioneer.. anyone have experience on this? the guy said to just send it to the repair shop with a short note and enclose a $200 dollar check. is that right? do i need some kinda authorization number or anything??
  10. z1 side, i know for sure the car side works because i plugged my factory stereo and it powered right up.
  11. ok, i checked it again, theres no power coming from the red line, when i test the yellow line (battery) it lights up... could i have burned something from the wire harness?
  12. yeah, i did, i checked the harness and checked all fuses behind the Z1. there is power...but the damn thing wont turn on....
  13. just tested them, looks like they all have power running to it. i even went as far as to plug in the factory system and it even powered on... did i blow some type of internal fuse? can this even be fixed... geez i hope so.
  14. ok i know this was stupid of me but help me out, i took my avic out of my dash while the power was running because a wire was loose, fixed it and right when i was putting it back in the dash it all of a sudden turned off on me. now i cant get it back up and running, the damn thing wont power on at all... Ive checked all fuses, my car fuse and the fuses on the avic unit. it still wont power on. everything is working on the car, lights everything! its just the head unit. any ideas??
  15. yeah i second that, XM sound is not impressive at all... the source level helps a bit but it still doesnt compare to FM.
