  1. I managed to get the drive unlocked again through HDD unlock. Now that the drive is blank, and all the partitions have been removed how to I restore the drive and all the partitions from the .tib image? Is there a walkthrough for this anywhere? I see the one you had posted earlier, but that assumes existing partitions exist on the drive. Thanks!
  2. I recently attempted to update my maps to 2012. During the process, Acronis gave me an error message that it could not write to the drive. I could however still see and read the 4 partitions. I popped the drive back in my Z1 to see if it was still functioning and received the error message that it was an unusable drive. Needless to say the Z1 locked the drive again. How can I access the service disk menu again with this message? I need to unlock the drive again to start the re-imaging once again. Thanks!
  3. Thanks! As always, truly appreciate your help garrett!
  4. After finally getting around to taking out the head unit I notice two things. First you were correct about the auto flasher. The previous owner had one installed which is why I wasn't even aware of the bypass issue. Second, the two additional connectors required for the two wire bypass are missing entirely. I got in touch with the manufacturer and can order them at about $40 a pop. The question is can I simply order the one connector that you add the additional wire in and ground that with the parking brake wire leaving out the 'donor' connector entirely? I would take a wire from another s
  5. Which should be used for a install? I recently picked up a VW with a Monsoon OEM amp in the trunk with a AVIC-Z1 pre-installed. I am not sure if the amp in the rear is even wired to the head unit. Is there an easy way to check for this? Should I use the OEM Monsoon amp in conjunction with the head unit or the head unit alone? Thanks!
  6. Thanks! I will try this today. I was not using the flasher method before, but I agree something must have had it bypassed. I am unsure of the wiring as I purchased the car with the head unit installed. I do know that the parking brake must not be connected as I can't access the menus even when the brake is up. Any thoughts?
  7. I just updated my Z1 by following the guide. Thanks! My only issue is that now it appears my address book, POI and all related selections are greyed out and unelectable? Am I missing something here? Kind of defeats the purpose of GPS if I can't enter a route. Thanks in advance!
  8. Is that a question or a statement? I am hoping this is North America. Can anyone confirm? I am still downloading..
  9. Can anyone else post this to a service like FileApe that will not limit my download? I can't download after the 3rd file without hitting my download limit.
  10. I recently purchased a vehicle with the Z1 installed by the prior owner. Its a unit but I wanted to wipe it clean so I wouldn't have any traces of the prior owner and their personal settings. During this I made the mistake of hitting the front dash mounted reset button with a pen while the unit was still on. It seemed to reboot fine, but it gets stuck at the pioneer splash screen and won't go any further. Prior to hitting the reset button the unit worked fine! I tried holding down the map button so I could get the pop-up menu for a full erase but nothing happens. Did I corrupt the HDD and
