It makes me curious though. If there was a simple bypass like that built into the Z1, then shouldn't there be something like it but different in the Z2? The Z1 used it's connection with the illumination wire to figure it out. Maybe the Z2 requires the parking brake sensor to be switched on/off during start up. Or perhaps shifting into reverse. Whatever the AVIC units can sense could possibly be a new bypass, no? Except speed pulse, hopefully.

I would talk to them but like many shops around here, they're closed until Passover's over. I've been holding onto the equipment for over a week and it's driving me nuts. Besides, I'm not looking for installation methods as much as I am user experiences with similar setups. I'm more interested in people with this model car than specifically a Z1/Z2. And as far as the bodywork's concerned, yeah, obviously the stuff comes off before the car gets painted. But the more I know about where and how the antennas and cameras get mounted would help me understand how difficult that will be.

It's more like buttering both sides of your toast. Maximum exposure.

I hope I'm not repeating anyone here, but I have a Z2 waiting to be installed. I was hoping for a bypass method to show up first, but I'm wondering: has anyone tried the headlight flashing bypass? I don't see any mention of it in this thread (except for the Z1). Just curious if that's usable as a stopgap until a better method comes out.
