  1. This is a very commen problem, It happend to many z1 we did big systems with at my old shop and now just did it to my z2. The rca ground loop isolation thinggy in the z1/z2 is grounded to the chass of the unit, something commonly goes bad and they say ground one of the rca's the the deck's chassy but thats just a bandaid never fixes it for long, it just fried my preouts.... stupid pioneertechs. anyway's no way of fixing it except sending it to pioneer and having them replace the ground loop insolation part, if you ground the rca your only going to have worse problems later on, but dont feel do
  2. I have mentioned this before but maybe it will help look over something you have overlooked, I have now put on over 3000 miles and my bypass works 90% of the time, yes its not complete but I have my ebrake on a switch and if i turn it to ground it bypasses everything and gives me video and nav functions, the ONLY time I get the ebrake erroe is if I leave it grounded turning my car on and off several times without turning off the ground, but if I turn ebrake off and start and turn off my car a time or two it can be bypassed at anytime again, no need for a reset. I do not have my vss hooked up,
  3. So not so sure whats going on here but just thought I would inform you guys, at 350 miles it gave me the parking brake error, because I started my car without my switch grounded, well I have not reset the unit since I bought it, but now if I turn my car off with the brake grounded and start it with it on, the unit is bypassed, so basicly I never have to touch anything, I dunno if its a fluke or what but im over 950 miles and it's still bypassed I just leave the brake grounded...... any questions about anything im glad to help, although I dont know much........
  4. All good things must come to an end...... ya my z2 was bypassed for about 350 miles and sure shit I got the parking brake error, so I will have to reset mine tomorrow, sounds like in some of the other forums they are comparing the z1 and z2 hardrives so hopefully we will figure something out soon
  5. So i'm pretty sure that is the same as the back door bypass, but when I installed my z2 I pulled all the wires out of the harness except pwr acc grd pwr ant and I think thats it, I grounded the parking switch immeditly on a switch, and never hooked up a speed sense, and didnt hook up the reverse wire and as long as I start up my car with the switch off I can switch it at anytime to watch dvd or nav functions, I've started the vehicle with the switch on and it gives me the parking error, but never once since I pulled my unit out of the box did I have to go though any resetting or programming...
  6. Hello to all. I have a 2003 Audi A6, I know you can have satalite radio and gps as a option but I had A factory bose system with neither, Well when installing my z2 I saw a wire with a plug behind my radio that looked identical to my xm or gps ant end...... I dont have either on my car so is it a internal gps ant? If so can I put that into my Gps input on the back of my z2.... I know this sounds far fetched but thought I would put this one out there........, thanks
  7. Maybe i'm and idiot but 90% of the time dont you lose radio reception with an aftermartket radio, not sure why but ive heard far fetched roomers like its how factory radio's are designed with narrow bandwidth, because we all know factory radio's dont have the freq responds an aftermarket one does.......
  8. I would never spend extra money on a deck with time correction, just fade it as much to the rear pass as nec! JK LOL what sucks about pioneers nav units and there proccesor is you have to use the wired remote so some of the controls can be done off the nav unit and some have to be done through the proccesor, I think its lame on pionners part but maybe its cuz im picky like that
  9. If you can get ahold of xtant amps from the late 90's they kick ass, now they are produced and owned by mtx, not that mtx isnt decent, I have worked with dozens of the alpine pdx line amps, They rock! I would have used them myself but I wanted to keep everything diamond, plus you can hide the amps or put them under a seat being they are so small, now those are designed more for clairity, if you want more thump, I have also worked with Rockfords new power series amps and they are small and efficent as well, as far as speakers, if you like clairity try the Boston Z6's they rock I've had them in
  10. [quote name="kolizion"]Place your unit model here, personal or public then your idea you would like to see come to life. please get as specific as you can with your idea. 11. Hey everyone, I am not to up to date on making custom backgrounds, but I was wondering if someone with more experience can help me out with this one. I have a 2003 Audi A6, Black on Black and I'm trying to find or have someone make a background for my Z2. I should be following up on this every other day so if you have any more questions keep me posted, thanks to anyone who may be able to help

  13. Nice, I love the sound of the HEX, but Diamond is sq why go to mtx or xtant, any certain reason? Ive worked with mtx, diamond, boston, kicker, alpine, infinity pretty much everything excepty the internet crap like pyle and so on lol........ what kind of car do you have and what kind of music do you listen too?
  14. That's a clean install, I had a Z1 in my last audi and i had the dash fiberglassed and painted to use a isomount factory look. check out my install below let me know what you think?
  15. As far as I know behind the cluster is the best and only location I have used. If you use a wire harness it should give you constant acc ill, double check but usually the metra harness 70-1787 works but I am not positive, Do you have Bose? As far as the speen sense and other wires this is what I have, please be sure to test before assuming these are correct Speed Sense white/blue or white/green radio or instrument cluster 12volts red + ignition harness Ignition black + ignition harness
