  1. Hi, I have a W8400 and it runs ok, but was hoping to get the menus and interface to run a little faster. Does anyone know if the W8600 is any faster?
  2. I just upgraded from the 8200nex to the 8400nex. It looks like the physical buttons for "next track" and "previous track" were removed! Does anyone else like to skip songs a lot when streaming? Are you just using the touchscreen buttons to skip tracks or is there a way to program the physical buttons?
  3. Does anyone know if the Note 9 will work with the NEX 8000/8200 when it comes out next week (for android auto)
  4. My 8000next just died. Does anyone know if I can directly replace it with the 8200 without changing any cables or harnesses?
  5. UPDATE: Updating to iOS 9 fixed all the problems. Thank goodness.
  6. I upgraded my iphone 6+ from ios 8.3 to 8.4.1 and I started getting random hard lockups. I have my phone connected to the NEX when I start the car, maybe that has something to do with it. The exact issue has been reported by many people after they upgraded from 8.3. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7111334 https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/3bymzp/anyone_having_carplay_problems_with_84/ I managed to downgrade to 8.4 (8.3 was already disallowed by Apple), reset my NEX, and reset my iphone, and so far it's been working okay... crossing fingers.
  7. And on that note, anyone know when Apple or Pioneer is going to fix this? Update 10/12/15: I installed ios 9 and everything works again.
  8. Just another quick question I'm hoping one of the experts can answer. If I have the 8000 connected to an Android phone running AR Unchained, and I'm running a phone app like Google Maps, can I still play music from the 8000 unit (like off the SD card?) simultaneously? Or do I have to play music from the Android phone too if I'm using the ARU mode? (I'm curious because I hate to send audio over the BT connection due to the audio compression).
  9. Thanks, Phil. That's a bummer. My main phone is a Galaxy Note 3, but I want to be able to use CarPlay too. I guess I'll just have to use the Note 3 with AR Unchained.
  10. Just wondering if its possible to have both co-exist on an 8000 NEX: - iPhone 5s hooked up via USB in Carplay mode to handle everything except cell phone - Android phone hooked up via BT to handle cell calls
  11. Oh bummer. Why can't the stock appradio just do this? I wish I could jailbrake my phone, but I can't because it's work-issued.
  12. Can App Radio 3 do this with Siri Free or through an app? All I really want to do speak into the mic and say: "navigate to the nearest Starbucks" or "directions to 123 Main St, New York, NY" ...and have a route calculated that avoids traffic. ...and continue playing mp3's in the background... Does AppRadio3 do this? Please say yes.
  13. Strange. The Ipod Nano 6G uses the analog connection for audio. Whereas the Ipod Nano 2G used the USB connection. Does anyone know if the 4G or 5G nano uses the USB digital connection?
  14. That's weird, just tried it. When I unplugged the miniplug, there was still mp3 audio playing through the ipod connector. This is with an ipod mini gen2. Which ipod did you try it with?
  15. Who knows the answer for sure? I've heard that for audio (mp3) playback, the audio signal is digital through the USB connection into the AVIC, and for video playback, the sound is routed analog through the mini-jack into the AVIC. I've also heard that for both audio and video, the audio signals are analog and routed through the mini-jack. Help.
  16. Well, the current system requires you to look at the screen and touch two tiny screen buttons. That's requires you to look at the screen (instead of the road) for 3-4 seconds. OTOH, when there's a physical knob, it just requires a 0.5 sec glance to locate the knob, then you can rotate the knob by feel. I happen to do a lot of zooming in/out when I'm navigating by gps. Maybe others don't.
  17. Please help the noob. I know there's no 2-finger pinch like on a smartphone, but is there a quick way or shortcut to zoom in/out on the map in navi mode? Or is the only way to select the magnifying glass icon and then select either +/- or the actual magnification? Most OEM car navi's have a way to zoom in/out easy, like by rotating a physical knob, so I kind of miss that ability. Thanks!
  18. just got the z130bt. Whenever I do voice entry for navi destination, it always defaults to Alabama as the state and I have to change it. Is there a way to make it default to a different state at the first voice prompt?
  19. Yeah, need the voice control. I guess I could get the Z130BT, or the Kenwood 9980HD...or wait for the Clarion NX702.
  20. In the US. Any resellers have any left?
  21. Anyone know where I can find one brand new?
