It seems that I can only turn off the monitor while stopped. This seems to me to be really stupid. I was driving back from a customer's facility late last week and after the sun set, the monitor was too bright. Pressing and holding "home" wouldn't work. What am I missing?

I did finally get the video to playback on the 940. Using the Xvid codec and setting the resolution at 640x360, it works. It does not fill the screen, but at least it will play from the SD card. What a PITA!!!

What is the best way to bypass the parking brake other than connecting the green wire to an on/off switch?

I just installed an avic-x940bt. I too am going mad trying to figure out how to encode video for SD playback. This is an old thread. I'm just wondering if anyone has a solution now?
