I installed a backup camera, it works, however it will only come on when the camera is turned on the head unit. I am probably doing something wrong, or got a setting messed up, just need some help. Thanks! Duncan

So far I am happy with the appradio, however once I upgrade my phone, ARliberator will be put on it and do away with the silly pioneer keyboard that is bad to type on. The appradio calibrating with the white dots on the opening screen is annoying, however I will put up with it, for now.

The sh#t sent one without a legal serial number on, this was the second one. The screen was DOA too. I shall never again pay good money for a HU when I can typically find the same locally for a little more.

I returned my third unit to Pioneer after the local repair center had it for two months last fall and a month this spring. They replaced it with the 8500 and it has no issues so far. It is critical to get in contact with them before your warranty expires. When the outside temps are over 75F, mine would lock up. Anything under that, fine. I assume the direct sunlight and heat affect some of the units. It is a great unit, when it works. I installed the 8500 unit which Pioneer kindly gave me to replace the 8400 with the intermittent touchscreen, and yesterday the android kit was put on. I got it to work, however the silly white dots need to be calibrated every time I use it, or am I doing something wrong? It appears not to remember the settings. It is very possible I am missing something in the settings, as this does not make any sense. Anyone got any ideas?

Hello there, I just got my 8500 yesterday. Setting the droid to it is weird for some reason. Do you have your phone set to transmit voice and music? I had this issue. My problem is I have to calibrate the white dots every time I want to use the appradio. That is goofy, any suggestions?

Any idea why Pioneer list the CD-AH200 for the new units and CD-AH200C for the appradio 2? Are they the same? Crutchfield seem to think so.

I have documented the freezing screen issue in the past. Well after getting it back in November from the local Pioneer repair shop all appeared to be fine. It also coincided with temperatures here in Texas typically lower than 75f. As soon as it got hot in March, it started freezing again. The local shop tried an update, it did not fix the problem. They suggested contacting pioneer. I did and they are swapping it out for the 8500. My unit had been in the shop for a couple of months in the ten or so I owned it. I have never had a streaming issue with my Motorola Photon. It shows the artist info.

Could you elaborate a bit more. When you say turn off, you mean hold down the source button?

Does anyone think the bypass relay may stop the HU from doing BT updates? My unit does not show the BT updates being available. Does anyone know of any other potential issues with the bypass being used?

I just checked out the 5500, it is a very nice looking unit. A lot of the features of the 8400. No SD card, does it have a removable screen? It would be good for my wife, she's not into some of the bells and whistles I am.

I have to disagree about the 8400. It is an amazing unit. However it does not accept android for apps. You can stream via bluetooth, and that is it. I'm glad you found a head unit that suits, that is all that matters!
