  1. None of the "Advanced Apps" will function. Without the Advanced Apps, the Appradio 2 is nothing more than an AM/FM radio when used with an iPhone 5. Your 8400 will not work beyond making phone calls, or playing Pandora with no display or control from the HU itself. This is blatant false advertising on Pioneer's part. After all the complaining on their Facebook page by tons of unhappy users, they should have known better than to plaster an iPhone 5 and showing Advanced App compatibility.
  2. I promised a while ago that I'd never post here again, but this irked me enough to suck it up, and I wanted to help the AppRadio community. I saw this advertisement in the latest issue of In Car Entertainment magazine (Jan 2013) and it was the very first advertisement on page 1. Now forgive me if I am wrong, but that's an iPhone 5 in the advert, when iPhone 5's blatantly don't work. Also, their early released 2013 models lack iPhone 5 compatibility as well. I posted on their Facebook and may tweet it later to them. Maybe you guys can follow up also? http://imgur.com/uxzuN
  3. Because I messed up one wire? A wire I knew wouldn't cause an issue since it didn't ground to anything else? You know what dude, go fuck yourself. It's people like you that want others to always be afraid to try shit on their own so you can keep lining your pockets. No wonder people hate audio installers. I'll figure this out elsewhere. Forums were made to help others and point them in the right direction; not for other people to be condescending pieces of shit towards others asking for help. Later guys. I won't be posting here anymore.
  4. Yeah, I did the 2nd option, but I don't know where the parking brake wire is in the RX8. I connected it to the e-brake wire. I didn't know there was a difference (or am I just totally confused?)
  5. Yeah, when I heard parking brake wire I thought that. I don't have a clue where to find that wire in my rx8, but I'll figure it out I'm sure.
  6. Thanks! I thought brake wire meant "parking brake wire" so I connected it to the handbrake. lol Forgive me, it's the first time I've tried to install car audio, so I am making rookie mistakes. (For a first timer, I think I did well so far - I changed all speakers, the factory HU, put in a sub, added a steering wheel control...) Going to add an aftermarket amp this weekend. I'm not paying anyone crap. I'm determined to never pay for car audio again, and I think I am doing a much better job because I care for my car. haha. So I guess I need to figure where to get to a parking brak
  7. Is the PAC absolutely necessary for a bypass? Can't stick a manual switch somewhere? I don't care to use the screen while driving; all I want to do is see a map while driving...
  8. How'd you bypass it? I bought a PAC and it was an epic fail. All it did was make my brake light on the dash blink uncontrollably.
  9. Tried bypassing my radio today and it was a complete and utter failure. All the LEDs flashed as they should, but in the end all that happened was the radio still insisted in putting the parking brake down, and my brake light on my odometer kept flashing wildly. Car is a 2009 RX-8. I also put in a Metra Axxess ASWC steering wheel adapter which worked wonderfully. Anyone know what could be wrong? There's no way to bypass this with a manual switch? Or is the PAC the only way? I believe I am on the latest firmware. EDIT: Maybe I am misunderstanding what the parking brake
  10. Yeah. I was planning to complain to Pioneer as well. Their own videos misrepresent how the radio works in normal situations while driving. For example, one of their videos show Navigation on screen, but what use is it if you can't view the map while driving? I can understand not being able to type, but not seeing the map is unforgivable. It's a nice radio otherwise.
  11. I purposefully left the GPS antenna off today to because I need to find a proper place to put it in my car. I've read here that the Pioneer antenna can disrupt the iPhone more than help it. If you guys did a new install today, would you guys keep it on, or would you just say no and leave it disconnected?
  12. Well, I found the answer today to my question. You cannot see the map while driving. What a fucking crock of shit. I guess I'll have to bypass the damn thing just so I can see the map while driving. Crappradio indeed.
  13. Just installed mine today and yeah, it's buggy as hell. It sucks, but all you can do is deal with it for now and hope that Pioneer gets its act together.
  14. Yeah, but if a thief knows that these radios can be taken out and sold easily, it kind of makes it a higher profile target.
  15. Does that mean that anyone can just steal this radio and have at it? Or is there anyway to secure the device against theft?
