Some stock hu's have an antenna amplifier built in. VW comes to mind. A relatively inexpensive aftermarket antenna amp should fix you up.

Do you have your (orange, I believe) trigger wire hooked to something that either goes to power or ground when the vehicle is put in reverse? And if you do, check your settings. There are three options for your trigger wire.

I'm confused whether you have a Droid Razr or an iphone. If you have a Droid Razr, you just need an hdmi to micro hdmi cable and some way of keeping it charged. No mhl adapter is needed.

It sometimes helps to extract the file to your computer first, then load the file onto a flash drive. Just extracting to a flash drive occasionally messes things up.

Any electronics store should have surveillance camera cable in various lengths. I just looked at the specs of your HU and it only works with iphone. So if you choose, try the Pioneer AVH-x8500BHS instead. It has the advanced appmode necessary for your Note 3 to work. Another good choice is the Appradio 3.

The cable is for audio and video mirroring from your phone to the hu. The bluetooth is for registering touch events as well as hands free calling.

There are issues with Samsung's latest ota update working with the appradios. Did you allow an update to happen recently? Your adapter is the right one, by the way.

I was of the understanding that the Appradios were running under a heavily masked windows ce, but have had somebody dispute it. If so, there should be a way of getting into the native winCE just like the Mio Pocket app did with the non-linux pnd's about 5 years ago.

Did you purchase the Samsung 5 to 11 pin mhl adapter to work with the Pioneer kit?

Did you change your HU settings source from "digital" to "other"? It needs to be done when switching from iphone to android.

Or just use Appradio Unchained. Area 51(the dev) has a forum thread over on XDA. This app is in advanced beta right now and does essentially the same thing in a slightly different way. ARL is starting to look like abandonware, which is very sad indeed. Or better yet, just trade with VBLUE42!

It really sounds like you don't have an antenna connection somewhere. I would make sure that the antenna connector is pressed all the way in. American appradio firmware only allows for odd decimal units. There is no need for even ones.
